The Welsh Government is planning to allow people to self-identify their gender when standing as candidates for the Senedd.
Plans to increase the number of Senedd Members from 60 to 96 and change the electoral system to one that is wholly proportional have already been published in a Draft Bill.
But the Bill excluded another reform to which both Welsh Labour and Plaid Cymru are committed: creating a gender-balanced Senedd by having quotas for male and female candidates. Instead, the Welsh Government has said that a second Draft Bill covering this aspect will be published before the end of 2023.
TalkTV’s Kevin O’Sullivan and Alex Phillips are joined by 'Standing For Women' founder Kellie-Jay Keen who slams the Welsh Government's "nonsense" plan to allow self-identifying transgender women to stand in Senedd elections as females.
Kellie says: "I'm sick and tired of anywhere that pretends that 'woman' is some indefinable concept!"

In Australia the hospital wards have no wards for women. So you can find yourself in a ward of 4 with 2 men. all sharing the same bathroom. At night there is usually only one or two nurses on call. It's just so ridiculous and really unsafe.

The law is very clear. Rape is defined as penetration by penis and therefore only biological males can be charged specifically with rape. Anything else would be sexual assault or sexual assault by penetration. But correct, the inevitable grey area of self identification with not requirement for medical intervention does allow rapists to be classed as women - in total contradiction to the statute wording.

So the rapists charged with rape (that only applies to penetration with penis) that identify as women are recorded in crime stats as being perpetrated by women, even tho the statute says only males can be charged specifically with rape as it requires male genitalia

Had a long online discussion with someone (most likely a man who thinks he's a woman but he didn't admit to it) who thinks that women are a social construct. He basically does not see women as a separate human sex category, at one point he made an argument which implied that we are nothing more than weak men. It was truly disturbing this person's views on women, it's offensive, insulting and misogynistic.

Oh I also had one with a dude, who claimed that wearing a dress and following sexist stereotypes can make anyone a woman, basically he admitted that woman is just a costume. He sounds like an unhinged troll, but he spent weeks arguing with everyone on that video, so I thought he might be serious. The other 1% are what I would call old fashioned transsexuals who have been trans for decades and have been castrated and they are very upset about the new trans ideology and want no part of it. Well this scenario has occurred. A lawyer who'd asked for an all female team was burst in on by a TW nurse - deliberately - and when she complained she had her life saving operation cancelled and told she couldn't get treatment with them anymore. She raised merry hell and the bosses rearranged her appointment to another place. Ahh another panel whipping up this conversation that in reality impacts a tiny minority. Trans people are people. They have rights. Gender is a social construct and their right to live in their gender identity is crucial to protecting this small minority. The media are doing their best to back up a tyrannical govt in keeping this issue in the public eye daily so we ignore the real issues that we face every day with the cost of living and housing, with the decimation of our NHS and public services. Let’s focus on real issues, we’re all really impacted by.

@@simonchristopher7 Did you encounter a man in a woman’s bathroom last Friday? Because I did. He didn’t even try and look like a woman. Scared the absolute sh@t out of me. Because the state I live in, our Governor rammed through our house and senate a bill that allows all public toilets to be gender neutral. (Illinois). This bathroom was clearly designated female, but these men don’t care. And this is not the first time this has happened to me. I am recovering from domestic violence. I do not feel safe around men in general, and especially when I am so vulnerable, with my pants pulled down and on the toilet. This issue affects all women. We are 51% of the population! I have a lot of orthopedic issues and need to join the gym. But I am terrified of what I may encounter in the locker room. Does that seem fair to you?

@@maryannebrown2385 I live in a city full of gender neutral bathrooms. I’d rather it goes that way for the safety of all. I have no female friends who have any issue whatsoever with washing their hands next to men, or indeed trans women.
