Great choice! Played beautifully. LOL back "in the day" one of my favorite home made cassette tapes I dubbed was Badfinger-Straight Up on Side One, and Dave Mason-Alone Together on side two:) Listened to that while out driving around with no particular place to go:) I wore that poor little cassette tape out to the point I could no longer splice and repair it:) Haven't thought about that in years!
thanks so much for the view and sharing those memories... I think we all had our 'go to' tape in the car; I think it was just more special at the time being able to actually create your personal play list and hear it in the car whenever you wanted... it took a lot of effort and careful placement of the needle on the vinyl to make it clean...... Now it's just a few clicks.. good thoughts... thank you!
Absolutely kickass. More than did justice to a tune by a band that seems almost forgotten (and if not for Baby Blue that was pretty creatively used in the Breaking Bad finale, I fear they would be even more forgotten). They are my era, and I love everything they did - virtually defining 70s power rock - so why aren't they better known? I have no answers. And oh my god so many tragedies, it is hard to listen to this and not get a little misty-eyed (especially seeing the video of them performing as you play). Anyway: you've said this is in your sweet spot time period and its obvious how much you enjoyed it and played your heart out giving it the bass the tune deserves.
Ken you are so right regarding the travesties that beset this group. Two suicides and the rip off by their corrupt management was certainly every bit of a failure of the music industry who lost two very talented and influential musicians. The sad part is every decade of music, even currently, has its corruption and the ineffectiveness of the industry to police itself and protect musicians still prevails. Thanks so much again for the support and as always it is so sincerely appreciated. 🎸🎸🎸.
