@@gentlemanedotv Banjo is of Yoruba descent, and the historical perception of Biafra as excessively tribal has been manipulated by the victorious side, leading to a distortion of history that promotes tribalism and marginalization. It's worth noting that Banjo even attempted to stage a coup against President Odumegwu Ojukwu of Biafra, providing significant insight into the complexities of that period.
@@CHEATERSANDSIMPS The only advancement made by Biafra, was by Banjo. So, stop the nonsense about planning coup. Ojukwu was jealous of Banjo, Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna and co. Period! Banjo couldn’t take the war deep into his own people, so he stopped to negotiate. Militarily, Banjo and his Biafra troops don’t have the firepower of Federal soldiers anyway
@@realtorchukwunonsobenjamin Who are the problems in Nigeria? Igbos of course. Let’s go separate and see who’s better. It was separate regions before Azikiwe and Ironsi destroyed it all. This interviewer must bring someone else who was in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka to retute this man's version of the Nollywood version. I was in Class One in 1967 when the war started. I can recollect the chants starting in our schools to join the war, after Aburi accord failed, & Gowon declared the war. People chanted to carry guns in order to stop the Nigerian Army from invading our country. The Biafran War is like the elephant presented to blind people for their description of what they felt that the elephant was like.
I think he is telling the truth. My dad a YORUBA GUY was studying medicine in Nsukka at the time. ONe night my dad's landlord who was a professor woke him up to climb on the roof and escape. My father kept hearing as he ran the man shouting no one is here .no one is here except for me and my wife and kids. My dad escaped ooo with a big scar. I think he feel cos he has a big scar . Anyways after the war He went back. The man's house was raised down...fire ashes etc. You can the tears and haunting look in my father's eyes. I feel.so sad and sorry for him that he experienced such a thing... But he lived in the university for all.I know. Im.educated and know universities should normally be peaceful and schools or places of learning left undisturbed but look what happened. I believe this guy ooo.
@BOG418 My dad did did not finish, went on to work as an auditor after some accounting certification. Life was relatively better once he got over the shock. I think his dreams were cut short. That's his destiny. 😕Sighs.
@onyenkwereokwandu70 You're spot on. The actor admitted not serving in Biafra Force. I'm just surprised that he's so unpatriotic and unapologetically so. It's okay to not be the military type, but not supporting your people is something else. I'm also shocked that he would make a very unfounded claim for people losing a war and remaining "slaves" for ever. I couldn't believe that 🤔 nwa afo Igbo would make such a cowardly and untruthful statement. Germany lost the 2nd world war and still waxing strong today. USA beat England in their war of independence. England is a free country, the last time I checked. Southern part of USA fought a very bloody war against the rest of US(known as the Union during that war). Over half a million people were slaughtered. The North didn't enslave the South after the end of that war. The guy really surprised me. His views are still the same, even if he tries to say otherwise.
So enugu people where the people that rout for war but today the igbos are the one blaming Ojukwu.. In as much as Ojukwu use his fathers money to fight war.. So sad 😢
These comedians are not reporting what happened correctly. One, Biafra never went to war but were defending their territory from the Nigerian aggressions.
It's a simplified account but true nonetheless. A trail of the events from 1965: Riots in the North where Easterners were killed: 1965 Revolutionary Coup where Igbo leaders were not killed: 1966 Anti-Igbo sentiments and a conspiracy to overthrow Igbo leadership: 1966, Ironsi killed Ojukwu reluctant to announce secession, opting for constitutional reforms in Aburi: 1966 - 1967 Ojukwu flies in food from neighbouring countries during the peak of Biafran famine and starvation - 1968-1970
This narrative is false. Igbos did not choose to go to war. War was forced on us. Gowan went back on restructuring and proceeded to undermine the strength of the southeast region. Divide and rule has always been the game.
He wasn't lying , most of the igbo civi war is researched ,even in Harvard, the story of this man is true, though there are more, but is clear that the ig os who are blamed for starting the war didn't start that war , Gowan and his cronnies did, with the north and then joined by the yorubas.
Prior to 1967 igbos were in charge of everything in Nigeria. Biafra war 😢😢😢😢 it was terrible. They said no Victor no vanquish but is all lies. We were defeated period
Nna anyi Steven, i was not born during the war, but the analogy you gave about the war is not correct. My late father was 19 years old during the war. He went to war till the end of the war. The coup took place before the war not the war before the coup
@@eddyeffy You don't have to be 40, 50, 80 or 90 years of age to tell the story of what you have oberserved, read or told. As far as you're going to be honest without embellishing the narrative.
Wrong title. Igbo did not go to war. War was brought to them. Every nation has a right to self-determination and that right cannot be abrogated by simple force of arms.
There was nothing like the regions agreeing to kill their elite, not to talk of Igbos hiding their elite. He's completely ignorant. Of course he said he never saw the war front and I wonder how he saw the actions of Odogwu be anyi in the war front?
Oga, it is on record that the SE leaders earmarked to be eliminated during the January 66 coup were not killed by Ifeajuna who was sent to perform the task. Go and read the books about the war written by Ademola Ademoyega, Alexander Madiebo, Ben Gbulie and even foreign journalists John de St. Jorre and Frederick Forsyth and get some insight as to the events that led to the conflict.
You are perfectly correct my dear. He never saw the war as he said, he is just making up stories. He said. He said that Ojukwu was carrying gun both hands. This man is a lier.
Banjo was assigned to kill Michael Okpara but he failed. Ifeajuna was assigned to kill Aguiyi Ironsi but because Aguiyi Ironsi was a top military head therefore Ifeajuna failed. Zik was in London during that time. So how will you blame the failure of Banjo and Ifeajuna to Igbos?
@@chidiogbonnia1408 You're very correct 💯. The guy is a bold face lier. He gives the good actors bad name. Especially, those actors and actresses of Igbo extraction.
This Biafra story he said is wrong. I have someone my grandfather that fought Biafran war he’s still alive till now, if you want I can take you to his place, this man has the Biafran money with him live and direct
Apart from been an amazing talent Chief is a good human And I was privileged to be on set with him once or twice. A sincere man with humor in his bone marrows
I didn't see the movie you were referring to. He's half-factual with the war narrative. He admitted not experiencing the battle field. I saw the battle in several war zones. Much of the actual fighting was done by young people. That's not to say that other age groups did not suffer casualty. I was 14 years of age during training and turned 15 upon passing out of training. This actor heard news about the war and told some half-truth about the events. He's very misleading on some critical issues. I'm disappointed that nwa afo Igbo would make such cowardly and untruthful claims.
If I'm not wrong, he said the coup plotters agreed that the north should kill their leaders so also the west, while east hid their own, and that's why they concluded that an Igbo man will never become the president of Nigeria.....this is definitely untrue. History clearly states thate Ifeajuna killed the prime minister, Tafawa Balewa, and the western premier, Akintola. Nzeogwu killed the saudana of sokoto. While they spared Nnamdi Azikwe and Opara....
Which history? the one Obasanjo and Babangida wrote? Or the one BBC wrote from Britian? Are still in doubt about the characters that wrote your history? There was a victor and there was a Vanquished according the them. The Vanquished have their version too. We have lived in under the wishes of the Victors and can see where it has landed us. Keep deceiving yourself.
😂😅 There are lots of old Nigerian army officers of South East extraction that fought the war on the Biafran side that know what happened. I was born 02.04.1958. Our friend here should talk less. There will still be lots of old people that fought the war that are still alive and will still be in the next twenty years. Some people that fought and where born or lived about when the Second World War happened are still alive.
58 still makes a kid during the war. I'm glad you survived, though. But you cannot say someone who was way older than you shouldn't tell you his version of history, if you don't like it, simply tell yours
This man doesn't have the facts. He's not well informed or he's being clever by half. I'm not comfortable hearing elders talk this way. Just analyze what he's saying.
THIS MAN IS NOT TELLING THE TRUTH. HE IS NOT SURE OF WHAT HE IS SAYING. PLEASE DISREGARD THIS INTERVIEW. UWAEZUOKE OR WHATEVER HE CALLS HIMSELF SHOULD BE ADVISED THAT IN FUTURE HE SHOULD NOT BE INVOLVED IN WHAT HE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT.
Why should the igbos be so interested with power? The little power they had ended in a war 🤣😂 we should just build our community’s and enjoy life first before power you don’t need power to enjoy life 🤷🏽♂️
