❤South Ocean Blvd. was my road to work at Worth Avenue during the 1980's.The golden Reagan years. Palm Beach was the place to be. Season streched from November till April. Business was good at Christina Boutique, 155 Worth Avenue then. Today it is only few months during the winter. Love from Finland❤
Palm Beach county is so beautiful and it’ll always be home to be but unfortunately it’s just gotten way to expensive to live there compared to other parts of Florida, I’d love to see you visit Largo and Clearwater Florida, I know a few people in West Palm who are leaving Palm Beach county and moving up there, apparently it’s really nice up there.
I don't get that leaving in the heat. As you guys know ( lol ) I live in Tally. I can't wait for the summer and I can only swim in June, July and August. I've tried to swim in natural water Sept. 9th and that black gatory stuff was too cold! I love the blazing hot as long as my car A/C works lol! I don't tan and I've had mixed results with "heated pools" too. Best colder weather swimming was in a sandy bottom pool at a Disney resort. We won the trip. I've tried to swim in May too and it was still too cold for me too. It might be better down in Naples or other far down there spots. I think there should be a new law, if y'all cannot handle the heat you don't get to come back to the nice winter go back to Ohio...and I get y'alls condo! lol

Palm Beach is Florida's snobbyist town too. I don't care for the place by any stretch people there are just extremely rude and toxic. It's pretty much all of Palm Beach county.

Palm Beach is kind of a weird place. The Publix has a sandstone facade, no big P logo out front. Except for the valet parking, just a regular Publix. Worth Avenue has a ton of shops. Sort of low keyed. The clock tower on S Ocean Drive is the beginning of it. You almost have to be a local to find it. The Starbucks is on Worth Avenue, hard to find. Nice parks. The Anglican Church by the sea is really cool. That golf course you passed is around 10 grand a year to belong. Most of the homes have hedges that go way up. Almost like a living green walls. Parking on the beach in Palm Beach is 5 dollars an hour, and you can only park 2 hours a day. Cool town to visit, being poor, would rather visit St. Armands Circle and Lido beach in Sarasota. You two did make an excellent video, pretty accurate of the Island.
I have to say I love your videos I’m confused though wouldn’t folks be by the beaches in the summertime why is that area so dead I don’t get it where do they go and what hobbies do they do north that you’re talking about?
Palm Beach was founded by Henry Flagler, who built railroads to Florida so that the wealthiest people from New York, Massachusetts, etc., could enjoy themselves during the Winter months, since back then there was no air-conditioning during the summer months. Palm Beach grew from the Guilded Age, and Palm Beach was always a closed Society, meaning that if you were not from one of the aristocratic families (i.e., DuPonts, Rockefellers, Vanderbilts, Carnegies, etc), you didn’t belong. Also, if you were not a W.A.S.P. (White Anglo-Saxon Protestant), you not only didn’t belong, you would never be accepted into Palm Beach “Society.” Some of these people still live on Palm Beach Island and would never accept latins, blacks or asians, except as landscapers, housekeepers, security guards, etc. For many years, the Palm Beach Golf and Polo Club even had a sign posted outside that read, NO JEWS OR BLACKS. When Donald Trump bought Mar A Lago from Majorie Meriweather-Post (heir to the Post cereal company), he changed all of that. Since then, anyone can visit the public beach (but can never tread on a private beach) and along Worth Avenue without being looked down on. It’s now now only the visitors to Palm Beach Island who walk with their noses in the air. But trust me, any native Palm Beacher can spot them since they do not wear the “Palm Beach Uniform.” Today, because of the high taxes on Palm Beach Island, if you are not one of the 1% of Society, and are not worth at least $100M, you will not live on Palm Beach Island. Only the wealthiest people from around the World own homes there, and these are their 2nd, 3rd or 4th homes. And, you must keep a certain much money invested in one of the wealth management firms on the Island (I.e., U.B.S., Swiss, etc) or you’ll never live there. Sorry, but Cubans, Venezuelans, Colombians, etc., are rarely accepted by any home owner on Palm Beach Island because of the corruption they’ve learned from family members and government in those countries. Palm Beach Island is still highly, and privately, controlled by a select few. Enjoy sightseeing, and be inspired to dream big, because you’ll probably never live or work there. That’s the reality of Palm Beach.
