“People Received Stigma” | Infected Blood Scandal Victim Speaks Out 

For decades, victims and their bereaved families of the infected blood scandal have been seeking justice.
In the 1970s and 1980s, over 1,200 people were infected with HIV and other diseases during treatment for blood conditions such as haemophilia.
Victim and chairman of campaign group Tainted Blood, Andy Evans, said he became Infected with HIV and hepatitis C at the age of five through haemophilia treatment and went on to develop AIDS aged 16.
Andy’s parents weren’t told about the blunder until he was 10, and they didn't tell Andy until he was 13, when blood test results were showing the virus was starting to have an impact on his immune system.
Jeremy Kyle said he thought that the situation was on the same scale as the Post Office Horizon scandal.
