In this episode, I am riding from Oaxaca in Mexico to Puebla. What starts out as a lovely day riding dirt roads in the mountains, quickly changes when I get to the main highway which turns out to be blocked by people with guns.

At 9.11 mins in this video it reminded me of crete Greece when I went round a simple bend and never expected in hot summer to hit some water a puddle. I went over the edge and lucky for me was found by a melon truck how by luck saw the skid mark which would dry within 5 minutes. broken leg plates but a happy survivor

I just wanted to thank you for showing Oaxaca I was born and I was there till the age of seven but with some immigration stuff, I haven't been able to go back there since the age of seven. See your video brought me to tiers! My little 3-year-old boy was watching with me I saw tears coming down my cheeks and said what happened, papa? I explained a little bit about home and he hug me and said it's okay papa I love you! Thank you for sharing! Thank you!

Hi Noraly, Now that I have my CRF 300L Honda similar to "Alaska" I watch your videos with extra interest to enjoy how you ride, where you ride and the road surfaces you encounter. I only acquired my Honda less than one week ago. I have ridden it twice so far covering about 15 miles altogether. I am anxious to ride it much more but I am waiting on a lowering link that I ordered to arrive. The little Honda is a bit too tall for me to ride it safely. It is better to lower it to avoid dropping the motorcycle. I like to be able to get both my feet flat on the ground but at 5'-10" tall my legs are too short to manage that with the Honda at factory height. In the meantime I ride my X300 Kawasaki Versys. It is such a joy. If the CRF 300L Honda offers as much joy I fear my face will split from smiling so much. I am 68 years old but still get so much pleasure from owning and riding my motorcycles. I just turned 70, having given up riding 4 years ago (Triumph Bonneville). I've been thinking about buying another - and final - bike, specifically the CRF 300, but the Rally version, with a slightly lower seat, slightly larger fuel tank, and slightly taller wind screen. Did you consider that model?
@jepomer
@jepomer 2 года назад
I’m 70 and downsizing from my 2016 Africa Twin (for sale with just under 4,000 miles). Medical issues and short legs (29” inseam) makes the CFR300 much closer to my first love - 1974 Honda XL250 I purchased new at the end of my enlistment. I did find a 1974 XL that is restorable, but I would like to have a new motorcycle that is dependable - dual sport leaning towards adventure. I’m not 21 anymore and want a more comfortable seat but light enough to handle off road much as Noraly has been showing us.

Mexico a beautiful but tragic place on the one hand you meet wonderful kind and helpful people but at blink of a eye you can meet very bad people and some have badges money doesn't talk its swears down there I'm not trying to paint a negative picture but you have to really stay on your toes I guess nowadays that applies everywhere. People with guns ,guns in civilian population in Mexico is illegal you cant go to a gun store in mexico there are none except for 1 in the whole country, so if people with guns holding up a road that's either military federales or cartel that happened to me and my pard back in the 80s outside Guaymas, 3 feds with poppers blocking the hi way ,what did they want money 20.00 American dollars later have a good day they searched our bronco lookin for ?we watched them to make sure they didnt plant any dope they said they were lookin for narcotics yeah right this aint the border were in the middle of nowhere no body for miles these cops were hitting up tourist for money , its what they do to get by crazy place I've been down there 8 or 9 times once you get away from the tourist area you understand how it is it's like turning back time I could tell some really crazy stories but if you gave me a choice of either getting dump off either in the middle of mexico or any big city in America I'd take Mexico

Dear Noraly, I can't help to feel worried and upset for the things you are recording (which are your own life experiencies) going through my beloved México. If it helps you to know, we have now a government that is trying to revert a state of things that we as a nation had been carrying for generations. Those things converge on corruption and a permanent state of impunity and lack of justice. I know it sounds too simple to try to explain in a parragraph a complex situation. For what I see, you just passed one of the most important Huachicol zones. Huachicol is a slang word used to name alcohol of a very cheap kind and dubious origin. Now it is used to name stolen gasoline, but also gas and diesel from national pipelines which is sold cheaply, most of the times adulterated to make it more profitable. Two years ago, the new federal government started a head on battle to stop Huachicoleros, finding out it was a very lucrative business that went all the way up to the top brass of past governements, but also included many people that made their living stealing fuels. Now, as happens when narcos get unemployed, they change to extorsion, kidnapping and other activities in order to mantain their way of life. Take care. Many changes are now ongoing in México. But things are all but settled I´m afraid. If there is a way I could help, let me know by sending a message thru twitter. @josedejesusval6 and would gladly help and share phone number or mail adress If I can be of any help. I live up in north central México. Have a safe trip.
