Let’s all be honest pimp my ride was hot while it was out we all loved to see those junk cars refurbished into something spectacular. Whether it was scripted it or not. It did kind of make people forget how much of a lyrical beast X is tho.
X maybe didn't love being on the show but he MADE that show. When he would "suprise" people and roast there cars .. man that was great. Definitely made my childhood
I think his issue is he didn't get any of the ad revenue because of course at the time he didn't know to negotiate those kinds of things. He spoke on that in another interview he did years ago
@@jackjill8129 or he would negotiate ownership percentage considering alotta the viewership considered that he made that show what it was….but then he says he saw the value in exposure after the fact so he was cool
Growing up parents put on Disney or Nickelodeon back in the day. My dad used to watch Pimp my ride with me, Rob & Big, The Andy Milonakis show and Runs House was our show for sure I miss em
The one thing I always noticed about pimp my ride is that they never showed the workers fixing the engine or transmissions on those beat up cars they just showed the interior and exterior of those vehicles
WCC was a cosmetic shop, hence why they hardly touched the engine. GAS was a performance shop and many of the older cars got upgrades. We got a 200hp turboed motor. Smog laws in CA made it a huge liability to touch the newer than 1975 vehicles.
@@martinsiedlecki exactly..they dont know what really was being done ..just because u put an Xbox, tv and new rims on a car don't make it filly pimped out
@@HNiCDuke they pulled all that shit out of the car at the end. It's funny when you still see these cars for sale occasionally. The show actually took beaters that were roadworthy and turned them into shit boxes that won't pass inspection.
As soon as I heard his voice the Pimp My Ride soundtrack played in my head, good times man. I'm really grateful to have had all the good things in life. Growing up without technology and then seeing it in real time progress to what we have today.
I've always liked him from his personality and obviously his music. Although we don't really know how these people are in real life he does come off as a very down to earth type of guy
I'm trying to show our positive story but it's squelched in favor of the regurgitated Huffpo story. I got my wife on the show and we still have her car. The experience was awesome. Not perfect, but it was real, free, and they swapped her engine with a 200hp turbo performance motor. Now I'm making a full where are they now follow up series on the cars. Even the foreign versions.
X!!! HELL YEAH! I met this guy back around 08 or 09 at the Playboy Lounge in the Palms casino Las Vages. He was one of the few celebrities I've met that I could say was a genuinely cool guy.
Pimp my Ride was a classic show I definitely use to watch when I was a Young'n. I remember reading stories about people's cars breaking down after they added all that stuff to it lol😂😂😂.
I met Xzibit in Kuwait around 2011 coolest dude in the world. He hung out with me for a little while within his schedule. Even gave him my cousins cd as we ate lunch lol. Real solid guy
*Eastside Low Bottoms sh*t !* _Tappin' in from South Central LA_ I used to go to the public auctions around LA sometimes to find a car to buy. I went to one down here in the Low Bottoms on 28th and Hooper one morning. The pink Cadillac Fleetwood done up on PMR was there being auctioned off among other vehicles. The girl who was on the show was there attempting to buy it back. It must've gotten impounded at some point. Sadly, she didn't have enough money because it went up and sold for about 11 or 12 hundred. I think she only has about 8 or 9 hundred. She looked disappointed, and it was a little saddening.
That is awesome you got to see it, but that sucks for her. Did you happen to get pictures of it? It was listed up on Craigslist in LA a few years ago. I think it sold for around $6k. There were rumors she got carjacked and killed but I found a post from her saying she was fine but she was selling her car. Sucks if she just lost it. I got my wife on the show and we still have her car. Now I'm working on a where are they now follow up series. I have a quickie follow up on her car. Nile's Caddilac.
I’m glad the interviewer asked him that pay question twice bc This man X took a left turn, roundabout, passed 3 lights, hit a uturn, made a right just to end up still answering the question
@@datboycotvdotcom9593 people complained that they took forever to pimp their cars and put stuff they didn't want in the car ... like a popcorn maker in the trunk lol
Pimp my ride is a classic, what interesting that he put pimp my ride show on boondocks , and pimp my ride had a video game too on PlayStation 2 and Xbox good 3 year's of that show 2004-2007
I was in the joint with Xzibits brother. Dude use to come and visit pulling up in all these nice cars to come and see his brother. That's a real one there.
Can o say something x ! Thank you man honestly it influenced and perpetuated us in the early 2k to be young have fun with our rides and live that car life much appreciated for real
When ever in an interview i take pictures of all the pages in the contract without being noticeable and then say ill think about it and give u an answer tomorrow! Then i have the paper work seen through and then decided or rediscuss the contract
