Not really. Polygraphs are not 100% correct. Phone records? If there was an attempt, they’re not going to be texting each other. If it was conspired, these guys are pros. They’re not going to get sloppy about it.
They’re pretty accurate…people don’t just do like in the movies and pass a polygraph at will. And they will probably ask you the same question twenty different ways to see if your story aligns.

I don't know how or why the military lied about this guy. But this guy is a fraud. There's video of him shooting and he can't hit the broad side of a barn. Him and his buddy don't even know the difference between MOA and MIL. It took them literally like 20 rounds to hit a large steel target at just a few hundred yards. Polygraph is pseudoscience and would probably be used to go after the wrong guy. Finances and communications would be better, but communications would need to be gone over with a fine tooth comb. Because it could be interpreted any way they wanted if the people looking at it say an agent was talking in code and to look normal.

Successful people don’t work for the government, they have infinity better opportunities outside the government. The government always becomes cesspool of low quality people who achieve the minimum standards, and the staff will actively push out successful candidates so they don’t look bad.
It makes sense if people realize the Secret Services has a primary job and it isn't the protection of anyone. Their main job is to protect US currency from counterfeiting. It and US customs are the oldest agencies of the US.

Absolutely wrong on polygraph. Polygraphs don't accurately detect truth from deception.. they simply measure physiological responses to questions. The problem with this is that there is no scientific consensus on how someone should physiologically respond to lying as opposed to telling the truth. Some people are exceptionally good liars and have no anxiety around it. There's a reason why courts don't admit polygraphs as evidence
they don't do anything...there is no such thing as a working lie detector test...it's used to get ignorant people to confess or give reactive clues. They have no value, hence not admissable in court.
People often ask what policies or laws can be changed to solve such things. Lack of laws are rarely the issue, but enforcing them is the problem almost every time.

As retired law enforcement, I have been suggesting the same. The problem lies in the fact that a sociopath can pass the polygraph. I'd be surprised if most of the agents of the letter agencies couldn't pass as well.

It has 0 way of determining truth from deception because there isn't a physiological link between truth and deception across the human population that is consistent enough for such a test to be accurate. This is why it isn't admissible in court. It doesn't matter what kind of person you have administering the polygraph or what kind of equipment they have. There is no way of determining truth from deception with 100% accuracy short of being able to read someone's thoughts, which is obviously impossible.
