I love how whole hearted these videos are. The draw is the food, but the main treasure of these videos are the people and their dreams, failures, customs, and values behind it all. It really embodies a life-story in just a few minutes. The world needs more of this, thanks gold thread.
This is what I love about the food culture of Singapore...well, in fact, anywhere where you have vendors, selling one item, having perfected it over a long period of time. Passion, indeed, does go into that one item. Passion...skill, and dedication. It would be a treat and an honor to try this laksa. Hopefully, I can one day.
this is a good video and all but there is a mistake in 0:59 where the word malaysia and singapore is not in the place where it should be malaysia should be in the malay peninsula and singapore just at the tip of the malay peninsula. i hope this can be fixed because as a geography nerd this really aches my soul
Correction: the noodles aren't cooked in the stock. They're just served together. The boiling soup is poured onto the blanched noodles right before serving.
per my GF, Malaysia has the best Laksa in Malacca, and Penang, and i agreed. we tried the Laksa in Singapore, it was nothing to write home about. the whelk/clam was so fishy, it ruined the Laksa.
