The new Netflix film "Rustin" tells the story of a man central to the civil rights movement, but relatively unknown today. Bayard Rustin was a key organizer of the 1963 March on Washington, a confidant of Martin Luther King Jr., and a tireless advocate for equality. Lead actor Colman Domingo speaks with Hari Sreenivasan about the film.

What an inspiring, powerful and memorable Interview! My closest friend for 30 years now is an outstanding, accomplished and very soulful and spiritual gay man who grew up in the Black community. He has his younger boyfriend and I have my life. Still, he’s been the most important man and person in mine. We’ve shared our lives, thoughts and feelings on numerous subjects so comfortably, daily, 2 1/2 to over 3 hour phone calls and never run out ‘til this day. I so look forward to this Rustin film and the beautiful and passionate rendition by Colman Domingo! ❤ Blessings to each and all…

Thanks for this extended conversation with Colman Domingo. In some other places the interviews have been shorter and more rushed, so I really enjoyed this longer time hearing more good answers to good questions.
