I thought the B52 was the biggest venus flytrap! But now I found out that there is one that's bigger than a B52 I'm pretty impressed by the size of those traps!
I was out in the Francis Marion Forest today in eastern South Carolina because I heard a rumor that Venus Fly Traps grew here. I didn't see any in the supposed spot, but I did see Yellow Pitcher Plant stalks that were about as high up as my belly and bike handles, maybe 3 feet tall.
Venus flytraps and carnivorous plants in general don’t have huge amounts of roots. Really happy plants, grown perfectly will grow longer roots but it’s not necessary for them and they can grow in very small pots!
Hi, calif carnivores im a Venus flytrap grower and a few of the leaves died and only 2 leaves are left 4 leaves are growing but it seems one is spindly and long do you experience this too?
It may be that the plant needs more light. They like full sun and often grow spindly leaves when grown indoors or in low light. Try slowly increasing light, so as not to shock it
Venus Fly Traps are finnicky compared with some other plants, but are also some of the most cool. I get the feeling that not enough humidity is the #1 mistake everyday people make growing it, probably not keeping a plastic or glass lid on it. #2 Mistake might be giving it too much or too little sunlight. With too much sunlight the lid might in effect roast the plant.
@@BenBen5501 You can use fertilizer but it has to be carefully applied and diluted. It’s also best to only use fertilizers that have been tested on carnivorous plants. Undiluted or poured right through the soil, it can be harmful. But diluted and sprayed onto the leaves, it can be very beneficial!
