My favorite one of theirs with this song. You can really see and hear how much Mitch contributes to this song which you can’t really from the official video. His voice really is something.
Woah! Even better than I could've imagined. Kirstie absolutely nailed the lows and highs. I wish Mitch's mic was a bit louder during his bit but it did mean he was well balanced for the rest of the song. Matt was insanely clear as well. Thank you so much for uploading these :)
I too wished Mitch’s volume was louder, after listening to it again, I think the issue wasn’t Mitch’s volume, but more of a snowball affect, Scott singing low too loud, Kirstie raising her volume over Scotts as her part was the prominent one and then Mitch was kind of fighting a losing battle in the background. It is all good, I have noticed this before on other live performances, Scott gets really into it lol.
I listened to their music video directly before this and her voice has so much power now. that's 3 years of improvement, 2019-2022. I never stop being impressed by any of them.
The intro with Kevin's cello is extremely beautiful. He twisted it a little bit. I just love his creativity. What about Kirstie ? Words aren't enough to say how much she is magnificent. If she was a Pokemon I'd say she reached her mega evolution. I won't be surprised if she reaches another mega evolution. Beautiful piece.
This is probably my favorite group. I saw them in Knoxville, Tennessee on their Christmas tour. What a fantastic night. They can arrange nearly any song and give me chills.
I love this song so much when they do it live, because Matt sounds so much like a cello due to his ability to use vibrato in the low notes, and they mixed it so that he stood out in front of the cello (cellos in this one), if anyone hasn't yet, check out the cover of this song he did with Resound, it's short like 2 min long, but it's so good, or just pay attencion to Matt in this video around when Kirstin starts singing until the end, it's a whole journey!!
You’re taking about this one? He sounds great and I was like, that resonance! :0 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ZEuSXxAx6Ag.html Have you heard of his performance of the song Landslide,
That's a tough song to cover, but they more than nailed it!!! They have evolved from uniquely good to popular good to really good to just truly iconic great. Just when you begin to wonder how they could possibly up their game, they do it again and blow us away. So. Much. Talent!!!!
So, knowing that this was Kirstie’s first show since returning from having her baby, I listened again. At first, she was so close to the studio version that I was afraid she was using a track but when she, Mitch and Scott started their trio section, her voice wavered just a touch and she adjusted her earpiece monitor and came back strong. I’m re-re-re convinced.
I agree that her range is impressive (I’d specify though that I mean the range of notes that she can belt like sing with her chest fully), but concretely here it’s not more than 2 octaves actually (she finishes the phrase “or do you need more” with G and the highest note “meet” in “I’ll never MEET the ground” is D)
Hadn't heard PTX doing this before, musta been under a rock. BTW I was saying "why bring in drums and bass" then realized it was Kevin and Matt. And that little bit of Bad Romance tossed in...
What an absolute stellar performance of that song…I think it was even better than the “official”!!! It was really the first time that I had noticed how instrumental ( no pun intended ) Mitch was to making the whole song come together….
These guys continually impress me. Mary did you know will always be my favorite by them . First because it was the first song I ever heard from them and secondly because it’s a beautiful song. Having said that, I love everything they do! They are just so talented!
Such as talented group of singers. Each one has their own uniqueness. I am, however, a bit more partial to Kevin, being a violinist myself, but "beatboxing" AND playing the cello at the same damn time is next level. Kudos!!
Amazing as always!! This group just gets better and better. Lol I'm sorry but, I can't help it, I'm chuckling because it looks like Mitch and Scott grabbed the other's outfit!
would love to hear them sing some songs from the movie "jesus christ superstar." there are a few songs that i can envision where they would do very well with.
