We picked up the query from early Buddhism Q&A of Albomulle Sumanasara Thero Thursday, October 1st, 2020 @ Gothami vihara
Q. When a person tell me something and I feel ashamed, I can’t tell whether it’s just Shame and Fear of Doing Evil from virtuous mental factors or anger of vanity. How should I distinguish between these? Both the anger over the insults from others and the shame I feel after doing bad things are almost the same.”
