Both versions are gorgeous. Martin likes the unplugged sound, and we all loved it last night at SAP. 16th DM concert for me, since seeing them at Madison Square Garden in 1987. They still bring it
We can only pray that Martin won’t be the third member to leave the band. Quite obviously he is the band. David is just some washed up drug addict lounge singer without Martin.
@@larssandvik1347 Martin was an alcoholic during DEVOTIONAL TOUR, Fletch saved Martin as they were so close, but had a severe nervous breakdown afterwards, then Martin did his best to help Dave who was losing his mind and voice...If it weren t for Martin and Fletch , Dave would have passed away. Martin wrote " see you ""aged 12 and never had had music nor singing lesson. A genius introvert and sweet husband. I m positive he will live longer than me aged 54. In bad shape. DM is one of my iconic bands ever and on my modest channel, DM s playlist of gems is expanding like the universe. I ve just studied alone the meaning of Home , One of Martin s masterpiece with a slideshow. YT has blocked all my full videos studies of DM speaking French as 40 % of subscribers are French like me, bilingual though. Let s keep our finders crossed. Have a fulfilling weekend 💌👋💫🫂
Beyond fear, loss, pain, sickness, griefs, there is still happiness, life, HOPE.... I can't help thinking about Andy's passing on this ...Thank you Martin, thank you DM since 1981, thank you for sharing.
I already liked this song on first listen but after hearing this live clip it easily catapulted into my top 3 off the album. The way he taps into his lower register during the verses and that Motownesque improvisation towards the end… *flatlines* 😩😩❤❤
Thank you SO much for sharing this, what a fantastic recording!! It's hard to pick a favorite from MM but this might be the one. I can't get over how much it sounds like a long lost Prince ballad, just stunning 🖤
Thank you for mentioning Prince. I miss him so. I lived and loved through 40 live Prince shows; I can’t listen anymore since his passing, so sad to me. But I recently ‘found’ DM and they have filled such a huge void in my heart. I got a ticket for October 31st in Boston-first DM! I’ll probably be the oldest new fan!
@@maybeillridechangemylife509 that is so nice, thank you! I also feel DM might be helping my health, maybe saving my life. I’ve gotten old, so out of shape. I began walking for health and could never do it without DM on my headphones. You say it’s like church…maybe this is kind of spiritual…The first time I saw Prince’s video ‘When Doves Cry’ in 1985 I was stunned-felt like I was personally being spoken to. When I saw a video of ‘Enjoy The Silence’ 3 months ago, it struck me the same way. Has already changed my life!
Missed opportunity. The album version was made for a stadium sound. This is just more of homeless man's Alan Wilder tickling the ivories as Martin sings....
I agree sooo much! Why not play the full band version with Mart on guitar and keep this amazing Soul vibe the album version has?! WTF?! Great song of course... hope they will reconsider, this is lazy...
I hate these acoustic versions of songs live. I am not just talking Depeche Mode. All artists seem to do this. And every artist I see live they always choose the song I like the most to strip down to acoustic. WHY?
Martin has the most beautiful voice on this planet. But I respect your opinion. Martin is a gentle loving soul with the talent of Beethoven and the voice of an Angel.
