I have an old Stetson that I've worn for over 24 years now, and just ordered a new one a couple of days ago. Hats may come in and out of fashion, but Stetsons will always be around, I think. Hell, I'll bet that when we finally put people on Mars, at least one of them will take their Stetson with them. 🤠
Stetson Hats and Tony Lama Boots are more than a status symbol. Both will last almost forever. I met a cowboy when both of us were busted up in hospital. He came in with his Stetson Hat and Tony Lama Boots. I said howdy cowboy... nice Stetson and Tony Lamas. He said you know what they are? I said I grew up on a ranch, know how to ride a horse, and know the difference between a Steer and a Cow. You milk one, and avoid the other. Of course I know what Stetson and Tony Lamas are, I used to have them too. He was a rider in the PBR (Professional Bull Riding) circuit. He had been gored, tossed, stomped on, and stuck in his robe and dragged for over a minute. He finally retired while he was still alive. I said longest 8 seconds in the world. He just nodded. Quality doesn't cost... it lasts.
As the Texans say all hat and no cattle. I grew up on a Virginia farm and in the 1960s we drove to Texas to buy our cattle. Was this true? The cowboys talked us into putting a bagged armadillo in our trunk. We freed the armadillo before it clawed it's way through our backseat. Ya gotta have some good cattle stories to earn your right to wear a cowboy hat popularized by the movies. 🤠 Currently my favorite Stetson is a leather baseball cap. They make all types of hats easier for daily wear than my broad brim hats I can only wear in my F-150.
That's funny. That's how these things start though. At my workplace we have an outdoor social function every year. Ten years ago I audaciously appeared wearing a hat. Now, it's evolved into a full-on hat show with people donning panamas to pork pies. Go hats!
Many years ago Stetson was my dad’s account and they had a contest and my dad lined us up in our hats but 1 child didn’t want the hat so I was crying in the picture. True story
Have my stetson for over 15yrs, been stomped on by bulls, bucked off of horses and bulls, and ran threw the rain, mud, snow. Still lookn great. Just reblock, shape and good to go
