Back in the 70’s, I was stationed in Southeast Asia, U-Tapao Royal Thai Naval Air Base. I was assigned to the Secuitry Police Squadron, had a great private trailer for my quarters. I bought Kool & The Gang album which had Summer Madness for side 1. I would play that song every morning when I would get up and get ready for duty. Will never forget this absolutely beautiful heart piercing classic. Thank you for sharing. 👍🏻😎🎷🎹🥁🎸🎹🥁🎸👍🏻😎🎼🙏🏻✝️🇺🇸🙏🏻✝️🇺🇸
This is my ultimate Jam by Kool & The Gang. I can listen to it over & over again, all day long. Thank You all for the beautiful music that you've all shared with us. R.I.J.M. Dennis Thomas, he was multi-talented as well as the rest of the band members. My Condolence to his Family, Friends.

Its the Nostalgia....it immediately takes you back to the first few times you remember hearing this song which was more than likely decades ago......and you start to think about all the loved ones who were here at that time...just ENJOYING LIFE...the simple times. Those dearly departed who are no longer with us, but this song just puts you in a nostalgic trance is the best I can describe it. I always feel the same way.

HAPPY 50TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO SUMMER MADNESS as September 2024 draws to a close. Fifty years have passed and there has not been one single song that comes to mind that can hold a candle to the influence Summer Madness has wielded on other artists who have sampled this song.

My eldest brother, Glynn would buy all these LPs and on a Saturday, while doing our chores, I would be the resident DJ while they done the garden work. Rest in Peace, Hearty, Lips and Strangz. Red Cup 🥤 Approval Tune 🇿🇦 Memories in Music
Probably, so ! But "The Commodores" might think that "they" were the coolest cats ? James Brown always swore that "he" was the coolest cat,... but Rick James would have slapped Rick in his face, if he'd heard him saying that !
For I am not the physical body. I am The Immortal spirit within the physical body. I love listening to this song and imagining that I am freeing myself from the physical world.
Definitely a jazz classic. I’m nuts for Coltrane, but this, Bill Ayers’ Sunshine, and a couple of Grover Washington tunes are as much Jazz Cannon as anything Miles or Coltrane have done.
