@@keith3694 As did we ourselves, having over 100 trucks of our own. We knew there had to be a better way to avoid idling our trucks and saving money in the process. That is when Green APU was born. A definitive solution to an ongoing problem.
I used to work on Kubota engines for concrete saws, a 4 cyl. version. The saws are a torture machine for an engine and the Kubota held up well. An APU will be a vacation for this engine.
Everyone using overly specific overly engineered parts is one of the big problems we have now supply chain wise. Them using broadly available parts is a smart play
It's refreshing to see a company actually going out of their way to make components last as long as possible and also make replacements cheap and accessible. This looks like the one for O/Os that acually have to get out with a wrench and are footing the repair bill.
"That which is overdesigned, too highly specific, anticipates outcome; the anticipation of outcome guarantees, if not failure, the absence of grace." ~~William Gibson
Definitely install a mud flap between the APU and the tires, if you ever drive in the winter with snow or ice I can see ice or snow building up at the intake ports.
The quietest apu. Just installed it. Drove from canada to install this gem. The controller is so easy to use and dont even need to read the manual to use it. Thank you justtruckin
Some people just have that knack for talking and people. Justin you sir are one of those people and one reason you are so successful. You are doing a better job then the people you are talking to. Your interviewing telling the viewer what the production is like and also selling the product! Hell whatever the deal is your doing they are surely getting what they pay for!! Great job if I had a product to sell I'd like to hire you🤣!
@@beckyumphrey2626 you know that’s one of my focuses on my channel is spreading the word about Amsoil Synthetic lubricants. It has been the best on the market for a long long time and unfortunately a lot of people just don’t know about it. All these truckers out here using shell Rotella because it’s all they know. But it’s definitely not the best. I run nothing but Amsoil in all of my equipment.
I have been doing research and debating with myself for MONTHS on getting a Green APU to replace my current TK setup. That service manager Eric needs to know he has completely sold me on swapping out my units. Thanks so much for this video! Will be contacting them very soon to see if we can get it on the Volvo!
What an awesome facility!!!!! Lucky for you to get the rock star tour of the place!!!! Thanks Justin and GREEN for sharing the awesomeness of the units with us truly a blessing for our guy Justin and his KW rig can’t wait to see the unit keeping him comfortable in his daily struggles on the road!!!!!
I'm not a trucker, like your videos and understand a little bit more about what you need to deal with. Attempt to always be respectful of other drivers and especially truckers you job is not easy. Glad to see that you were in my neck of the woods.
Cool advertorial. Impressive operation. Congrats on your first vid to be all meat, no filler as opposed to the usual 35 minutes to tell a five minute story ;-) I still prefer battery apu. + espar but if I wanted an engine behind me this looks impressive to an injunear / dum truk dryver (me)
That is the most awesome APU I have seen. I have three questions that were not addressed in the video: 1. What provision is there for 120V a/c for a George Forman grill or a powerful microwave? 2. Does the APU share coolant with the truck engine to keep it warm when parked or is there some other method? 3. Does the unit turn itself on and off as needed and what is the fuel consumption?
Very impressed. My current unit is a ok unit but temperature is tough to keep right, meaning you are either too hot or too cold. I really like the Green APU eliminates that problem.
Good point on the racing input on reliability, as rule one, is that to finish first - first, you have to finish! Rallying is pretty much the ultimate proving ground for reliability in a hostile environment. Minimising the use of specialist proprietary parts is also dead smart.
I see you were in Lemont ,Illinois .I grew up in Lombard, Illinois . I also lived in Morris , Illinois but moved to Indiana in 2008. Thank you Dotti for the tour .
Just that w900 with the blue chassis looked awesome but that company were so helpful to you and that system looks so easy to use when I was driving I had a thermo king and it was terrible to use and the noise was brutal
Like all apps they need to relocate the evap to the ceiling rather then on the floor. I moved mine to ceiling of sleeper cools the whole sleeper including the top bunk better then any floor mounted evap.hot air rises and stays high need to pull the hot air thru evap to cool the complete sleeper
Crazy...my yard is right down the road from these guys. Very nice people and they have a 24hr. tech support too for your green. apu. Just remember in warm climate areas make sure you let your truck's engine cool off before running the apu's a/c . The green apu uses the truck's coolant. Btw...they must be doing something right because they're always super busy. Forget to mention after driving the truck and starting the apu, set the fan speed to the lowest setting so not to overheat the apu engine and after 10 min set it to the desired fan speed and temp.
I did pass this along to Trucker Josh Vlogs since he has a 2008 Blue Kenworth W900L - his last video he was talking about some truck drivers that idle there trucks over and was also talking about maybe getting a APU for his truck but right now it only has a bunk heater- and right now on his truck he has no room for a APU- he kind of wants to restore the truck and stretch the fram like 2 feet then he would probally have room for a APU then. Its good that GreenAPU dose go into Canada
(B.T.U.) means British Thermal Units; A British thermal unit (Btu) is a measure of the heat content of fuels or energy sources. It is the quantity of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of liquid water by 1 degree Fahrenheit at the temperature that water has its greatest density
cool video Justin awesome ac unit and so quiet pity they don't sell it here in Australia too compared to the icepack refrigerated ac (Australia) unit with that rattly 1 cylinder diesel and it only has 1 outlet (nothing comes out except for a cough of air)and doesn't like the heat like I was over in the shire of Carnamah harvest carting 37 c truck was hot inside took hours for the truck to cool down at night if it would run during the day I would try to have it running but engine shuts down after 20 minutes so gave up trying to cool inside of truck I'm trying to convince the owner to get the under side of cab and sleeper insulated (have to drive in bare feet floor super hot wearing work boots in summer)
Very interesting for an ex trucker from the U/K now retired in Queensland Australia, really good to see, love your videos. How do you find the time to fit it all in?
Great video. JUST one question. Do you know ,or can you find out if its possible to make it operate when truck is in motion? So if your truck ac goes out you could have ac until you can get to shop. JUST wondering. Thanks in advance.
That is nice how they test everything before they ship it to the customer.... I guess you would have to go to Illinois to get it installed or could you do it yourself.......JJ...
I'm sold. Been calling around to shops in my state of California, but might be worth the wild to head to Illinois and get it installed from the source. Good video.
Thanks for this review, im going for this one over the TK when i buy my new truck. Just visited their website and they have techs to install and service near Toronto Canada which is awesome.
Why in gods name can't I have this on my 5th wheel camper. I would literally drop cash tommorow if it could happen. Much better than the junk ac units on the roof
I am in the market for a apu and I have heen looking at different options. What I don't like about the green apu is first the control panel, it is simply ugly with the visible wires. They really need to come out with a black flush mount control panel since the white sticks out like a sore thumb and the other thing I don't like is running a engine and all the moving parts to generate heat. I would rather have a espar or webasto heater where the only moving part is the fan motor. The fuel consumption on a webasto or espar is usually around a gallon for every 20 hours of use.
I’m surprised they don’t have a touch digital display or the next step after that would be a phone app !! Just thinking out loud. Looks like a great product & company. The user interface could use some updating in for the 6.0 version & 7.0 Compared with your other model the interface is much better on this one like you mentioned. So that’s good as is too.
So green apu is just a marketing name. I thought it was some how green as in good for the plant. You know everything is green now as it implies good for the earth.Yet it is just a regular apu. Good idea 💡.
I currently work in industrial maintenance but thinking about going back out as a truck driver. I want my own truck but in order to stay married I need out and back or home nightly if possible.
Super awesome tour of GreenAPU place Justin.. must be great as Tdriver if have one of those GreenApu on yur truck... They look rock solid equipment for a bigrig. all American made too. Nice vid job touring showing everything.
I am very impressed I have a thermoking and I think it's a turd. One switch instead of three nice now justin how much is the price of it. I'm sitting in Missouri right now watching your video.
