I don't understand how people can be angry that Hugh is no longer the wolverine, and is in musicals. He's so happy. How can you be angry at someone else's joy. This drama Kid is FINALLY getting what he wanted. Let him enjoy it.
For some reason I just imagine the background pic being something like: Hugh: "I've connected the dots." Zac: "You didn't connect shit-" Hugh: "I've connected them."
Haha. Stolen, lost at when the comments were made. The idea and comical meaning is the same. Prove me wrong, all the evidence is pointing to this as stolen.
I actually really like this song. I think it tends to be left behind because there are so many great songs in this musical, but I love this one and the choreography too. They play off each other really well. There's just something to the beat.
When this song comes on: Me: I'm not going to get distracted, I'm going to actually get some work done. Also me: *slams fist on table* RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW
I legit love how in the actual movie, they (Hugh and Zac) were just moving around and dancing here-and-there while the bartender was chasing after them, preparing everything. I was mentally cackling like crazy-
POV: Villain: Don’t you want to be free? To live the way you want and never get punished or stopped by feeble forces? You: I’m not interested. I like the life I have. Villain: Do you?
Me: puts on" the other side" Family Friends and neighbors:NOOOOO! NOT AGAIN!!!!! Also me: oops, i have to sing now.... Don't you wanna get awayyyyyyyy!!!
I have to admit when i first watched this i had no hopes for zac efron as i had only ever seen him in HSM. BUT he quickly changed my opinion of him, he is so different and his voice is lovely. Also hes become more attractive as hes got older (Yes i thought he was cute when i first saw HSM - bit embarassing to admit now)
@@EmiPlayzMC same, I saw it through an animatic as well, and AFTER 6 MONTHS POSTING THIS COMMENT I STILL HAVENT WATCHED IT Srsly like why haven’t I? I really need to
@@basicallyvirgo4123 PFF- You and me both, it seems like - I can't even remember how long ago I found the song at this point, and still haven't got around to it
@@EmiPlayzMChah ive been meaning to watch this movie for the past 6 years since it came out. A few weeks ago my friend heard id never watched it, declared blasphemy and he forced me to watch it during a sleepover. 10/10 movie (We now have a list of movies we are going to watch together caus apparently im really bad at actually watching movies)
Okay let's all be honest. Hugh Jackman deserves a Nobel prize for offering a job under that kind of light. Makes me want to time travel to actually see the P.T.Barnum in real life
All I'm thinking of is my friend James using this for his audition song and the fact he got the auditorium clapping along to the beat. It was beautiful.
Right here, right now I put the offer out I don't want to chase you down I know you see it You run with me And I can cut you free Out of the drudgery and walls you keep in So trade that typical for something colorful And if it's crazy, live a little crazy You can play it sensible, a king of conventional Or you can risk it all and see Don't you wanna get away from the same old part you gotta play 'Cause I got what you need, so come with me and take the ride It'll take you to the other side 'Cause you can do like you do Or you can do like me Stay in the cage, or you'll finally take the key Oh, damn! Suddenly you're free to fly It'll take you to the other side Okay, my friend, you want to cut me in Well I hate to tell you, but it just won't happen So thanks, but no I think I'm good to go 'Cause I quite enjoy the life you say I'm trapped in Now I admire you, and that whole show you do You're onto something, really it's something But I live among the swells, and we don't pick up peanut shells I'll have to leave that up to you Don't you know that I'm okay with this uptown part I get to play 'Cause I got what I need and I don't want to take the ride I don't need to see the other side So go and do like you do I'm good to do like me Ain't in a cage, so I don't need to take the key Oh, damn! Can't you see I'm doing fine I don't need to see the other side Now is this really how you like to spend your days? Whiskey and misery, and parties and plays If I were mixed up with you, I'd be the talk of the town Disgraced and disowned, another one of the clowns But you would finally live a little, finally laugh a little Just let me give you the freedom to dream And it'll wake you up and cure your aching Take your walls and start 'em breaking Now that's a deal that seems worth taking But I guess I'll leave that up to you Well it's intriguing, but to go would cost me greatly So what percentage of the show would I be taking? Fair enough, you'd want a piece of all the action I'd give you seven, we could shake and make it happen I wasn't born this morning, eighteen would be just fine Why not just go ahead and ask for nickels on the dime Fifteen I'd do eight Twelve Maybe nine Ten Don't you wanna get away to a whole new part you're gonna play 'Cause I got what you need, so come with me and take the ride To the other side So if you do like I do So if you do like me Forget the cage, 'cause we know how to make the key Oh, damn! Suddenly we're free to fly We're going to the other side So if you do like I do (To the other side) So if you do like me (We're going to the other side) 'Cause if we do we're going to the other side We're going to the other side
I'm a huge Thomas Sanders fan (fander),so I see this as Roman swaying Virgil to do something or Janus trying to get one of the above on his side, but yeah Stark and Loki doing this would be awesome.
irl Meh: *Listening to songs with my earbuds* *This song pops up* Me: *Starts to dance the song infront of The guest my mom invited* Everyone seeing me dance even tho there's No music: *What is she doing.....* My Sister: *Oh don't worry she's on the other side*
Why I do feel this musical is practically completely forgotten nowadays I mean the musical was amazing so I don't see how so many people have never seen the movie, but it's their loss since they don't know what they're missing out on.
If you listen to the wording during the song you notice that the 1st one says "the part you *have* to play" making it sound like something he has to do, while the 2nd one says "the part I *get* to play" making it sound like less of a responsibility and more of a pleasure to be doing.
Lol, I’m listening to music while I do online school and I’m doing math. This song came up and I ended up writing only 2 numbers down because I couldn’t focus on math. I love this song! Lol! Great job Greatest Showman
My brother has watched this movie like a million times, but I've always refused to watch it, but just listening to this song kinda makes me want to watch it. Isn't it funny how you can hate something just for the fact that your younger sibling loves it? XD
I catch a glimpse of the other side... Laurens leads a soldier’s chorus on the other the side, my son is on the other side, he’s with my mother on the other side! Washington is watching from the other side, teach me how to say goodbye!
I remember the first time I watched this I couldn't focus on the music because I kept thinking about how utterly smashed these guys would be after so many shots.
Gosh, he (Hugh Jackman) cut the percentage for the show even deeper than what he does when he's Wolverine. Also, let's be honest here, this song and this entire movie are pure diamond).
