Yes but jimmy lozano gotta be held accountable . Your analysis to each match cannot be what televisa or cemex or the Vergara family do. At some point you need to analyze the individual and tactical mistakes in the match even with the bad players. For example, it is obvious that Bielsa is doing a better job with Uruguay than the previous coach with the same pool of players.
Mexico wasted this generation by keeping them home and not sending them overseas to get work in with the top talent week in and week out... They need to make a push for the current youth squads to go overseas to those teams so they can be good again by 20:30
That is because Mexico has no Bosman ruling. We have the infamous "Pacto de Caballeros" that makes it impossible for players to go to an European team unless their previous club's owner agrees to it.
Not gonna happpen lol. It’s only getting worse m. Monterey, Tigre’s, and America will just overspend on players and chivas will retain them because their limited on resources. The Mexican league and national team is doomed
The most alarming thing isn’t that we lost to Venezuela it’s that Mexico actually played decently for once & still lost it just speaks to the Lack of Quality in the Mexican National team right now you can’t just develop top class players in a year or 2 it’s a decades long process it just honestly feels like it will still only get Worse from here
Decent? I guess if you compare that to their recent form. Mexico with all their resources and league should be dominating. Look at where the Venezuela players play. They played like they were scared....which is how they've played for a few years now. Its they players not the federation or coach. You're right its only going to get worse.
It’s a mediocre! I don’t support or even watch the games anymore. Ever since 2006, the seleccion Mx has not been playing with passion the love of the shirt and country. It’s an embarrassment.
That also tells you the levels Mexico is off by. The US convincingly beating Mexico speaks to how they’ve grown and sending their players to Europe. A lot of the Venezuela players aren’t in Europe. Many are in MLS. What they have is a coach and band together as a team. There is a lot Mexico is lacking right now.
7:17 We have the same problem for our Azzurri when younger players are not getting minutes. Well said Herc! (Italy is investing more in primavera team that play in Serie C, so young players get time to develop. Juventus primavera team they get minutes, then they loan them out to other clubs).
The consequences of the Mexican federation’s greed. Their actions from 2008 have finally caught up to them. It’ll take several decades before Mexico bounces back.
@@WingWingHerro Sometimes I like to eat hamburger. But most of the time I like to eat Ribeye steaks or Fillet-mignon! This is a hamburger. CBS UCL crew is a Ribeye steak. Get it?
Mexico Before game: they can beat Venezuela 13 game unbeaten. They are playing great. Mexico after game: Mexico is going through their worst time, they played awful.
Exactly! These pundits never give Venezuela enough credit for balling out! Venezuela just qualified to the elimination rounds. Mexico and Brazil might not! Crazy!
Gomez you got it. He is there because his team got hot when he won that tournament with the same players. All the talk about the last two DTs. Where is the Lamborghini that the media was talking???????
He's in the copa america squad. He's just not being played at all. It's nearly the same players starting or being rotated. How Charly Rodriguez still gets called up and even starts is beyond me. He definitely has family in high places to be in the squad at all.
Imagine spending hundreds to thousands of dollars to watch a bunch of mediocre liga mx players. The people that keep going to these games are also the reason Mexico are like this.
Not poor Seb smacking his head against the door frame amidst his frustration. 😅 Ale summarized it - we’re in a vicious cycle and I just don’t see a way out of it any time soon given the lack of a talent pipeline. Look at our poor showing at Toulon.
Mexico will never improve until the majority of their players come from top-tier European leagues, and these players are starters or protagonists in their respective clubs. The coach can only work with what he has. I don’t think Ancelotti or Guardiola themselves could make this Mexican team win. Every other team in the world is progressing, Mexico ain’t.
Mexicos had the same or less players in Europe in past generations and still competed at a high level. It’s way more than just sending players to Europe.
Jimmy needs to not take Santi out at all. And sub in players that will be able to feed him the ball to score. It’s not his fault he can’t score. How can he score when all the wingers do is just launch the ball across the field to him all the time. He’s a player that needs to have the ball at his feet to score. Give him great passes in the box and he will score.
I love the coverage here of our game Copa America compared to the other euro snobs. You folks nail it its the players at the top level taking ownership. Mexico players lack quality.
When the US went super young post 2018 you could see them struggle but you knew they would get better. You saw it as they played more and the individual careers of those players progressed. I'm not sure I see that progression or even the ability of that progression for this Mexican team right now. Going young is fine if there's something to dream on. Pulisic at 17 was absolutely something to dream on. Is Gimenez? Plenty of players have scored in the Eredivisie, but couldn't make the jump beyond to a top 5 league. Is he another one of those and if so Mexico is in deep trouble in the next 3-5 years.
You can’t compare the US change in 2018 to mexicos, Mexico right now is clueless on any kind of game strategy or on how to clean house & actually make a generational change. The U.S has improved since they missed out on the World Cup but this process has been going on for a couple years now and still no results, the only thing they’ve done so far is beat the worst Mexican team in history. Oh and tie England. So how much have they really improved. Copa America is there current test right now, either they take it all or there still at the same level they’ve always been plain and simple. Santi Giménez yeah he’s not in a premier league or la liga but he’s definitely racking up his stats, every player starts somewhere, you act like you’ll go up there and score as many as him.
@@reagan445 With all due respect, what has this USMNT "golden generation" done? We look at the disaster that is Mexico, but all we have done is beat these poor CONCACAF teams. We still cant beat the better national teams in Europe and South America. Yes, we have more "hope" you can say, because we have younger players on the team, more players playing in the top leagues in Europe, and young players making moves to Europe at a yoing age to develop better. But until we win against someone of consequence, in a major tournament, we are still the best national team in a mediocre region of the world.
@@aidenroqz uhhh they beat mexico in the gold cup, we made it past the group stage in the WC, we beat mexico in nations league. i mean in terms of just CONCACAF USA has been steadily improving while Mexico is declining. Como un fanatico de los dos es obvio que mexico no queire invertir en el futuro. la federacion prefiere ganar dinero
i agree thats its the worst generation and the problem is not the coach its the players alot of over rated players and they did not take there best to copa america
This being in the United States and the United States being filled with Mexicans who are hoping ironically that Mexico wins despite Living in America makes this all the more sweet and why everyone wishes for Mexico to lose. The fact that people are rooting for a foreign team in a country that they don't live in is bizarre. Mexico needs to lose.
I’m more than okay with Mexican’s rooting for Mexico Futbol… But, as soon as they get booted all those fans better start wearing the Red, White, and Blue 🦅🦅🦅🦅🦅
The problem with the Mexican national team comes down to their forward players. Lozano is a leprechaun and literally cannot do anything against anyone an inch taller than him. Quinonez on the other hand has no finish or skills whatsoever. Their the problem. Having a stronger set of strikers and the team will improve.
4:15 Damn it's always so awkward and cringy when these guys try to get confrontational or try to add "personality" to their opinions. Comes off as unauthentic and like they're trying to copy Steven A. Smith which is someone that should not be emulated.
It was barely for 10 seconds while sas drags it on for minutes And ale actually analyzes the play, he knows how the game is played, he played it. Stephen A doesnt even analyze, he just shouts. It’s criminal he’s on halftime shows for NBA when he cant analyze film. He just shouts stats for entertainment
@@XXSTEAKYXX I'm aware it's his team but he's bad at being hyped, it's awkward. Like he's trying too hard. Maybe cause no one at the table is reacting.
Mexicos run is most likely over If Mexico wanna top the group they must win and Venezuela must lose vs Jamaica, but if Venezuela tie, they will top the group and Mexico will get 2nd meaning they will meat Argentina in the QF 😭
Players are drunk divas that think thier better than what they are, federation only cares about money, teams don’t develop talent, Jimmy is way to inexperienced with no experienced assistant coach by his side. It’s all a big mess. Besides gimenez there’s really no young players like 21,22,23 that u can say well they’re still developing at least lol there’s nothing to look forward to at all. I was rooting for Venezuela even though I’m Mexican because I really want this team to plummet and the federation to loose money. It’s mostly their fault. Mexico has the population and resources to be up there with the very best but there not, our league is so overrated and games like this show me that. Venezuelan players mostly play in weak leagues and even then they still play better than are overhyped divas. We’re in a big whole with no end in sight. I hope Ecuador wins because if we do pass the federation is going to say at least we passed lol. They’ve been saying there would be changes since we embarrassed ourselves in Qatar and nothings happened lol. It’s sad really. We as fans gotta stop going to the stadium but our party culture prevents us. We don’t care we just want to go drink and have a good time smh. This team doesn’t deserve our support
The Mexican national team is being managed by politicians and bankers. For example, Mikel Arriola is a former banker for Banamex. They have no personell that actually knows anything about player development etc.
The biggest myth in all of sports is that Mexico is somehow this incredible football powerhouse. Over the past 30 years their results have been extremely similar to that of the U.S.
Everything that was stated about the Mexican federation, choosing comfort, a mediocre coach who has never won at the club level, taking too much stock in the players feelings, no statement wins Apply to Berhalter and the USSF….
I have to agree, worst generation in decades, elimination in first round in World cup and now in copa América says it all, Mexican football is going backwards, federation doesn't care because they are still getting fat profits from the fan base in the US. Please Mexican fans living in the US stop going to the matches, show some self respect and dont waste your money!!
Having the rule of having a max 7 none domestic players per team is killing the Mexican born talent, they never have an opportunity to play at the professional level, ever.
I am not an Mexico fan. But this guy is a comedian. He is so happy that Venezuela won you think is upset. Mexico been trash for a while, so don’t keep your hopes up and they surround you will get knocked out.
I live in USA and support USMNT & Azzurri, but fans are simply delusional if they think CONCACAF can compete with Colombia, Uruguay, Brasil & Argentina. Maybe against lower CONCACAF teams, but this is still a cup to be fought between Argentina, Brasil & Uruguay.
Y’all will see one day, Santiago Gimenez is gonna be great for club and country! Trust the damn process. USMNT were shit once. And now they great! Mexico time is coming… and all y’all hating but comeback is coming!
Hey Herculez at 7:32 saying that Panama has players in Europe and they are advancing is an awful take! Hey Herc, you forgot the fact that Uruguay beat Panama and USA will probably beat Panama and thus Panama will be eliminated! Go get informed man!!
You guys are hugely over reacting. Mexico outplayed Venezuela. They just don't have a quality #9. Venezuela have Rondon. End of story. Let's get some perspective on Venezuela here. They've played a 10 man Ecuador and a feckless MExico. Next they'll play the worst team in the tournament in Jamaica. Venezuela will get smacked the first good team they play.
Mexico fans: Venezuela will never beat us *venezuela beats them* Mexican fans: vomit out every single cope you will ever see. The lack of shame from u people is why I relished the 7-0 chile loss, the 3-0 Sweden loss, the Netherlands last gasp 2-1, the Brazil 2-0, the USA victories in the last couple years, and now finally we got a crack at you losers. Keep crying, it makes me happy, you guys are FINISHED!!!!!!!!!
The end result is what matters, they lost, case closed. Stop defending a lost team. This generation has to be the worst we've ever seen. Our classical rivalry the US is light years ahead of this team, just how much can a team endure before there's significant change
Keep telling yourself that. Venezuela’s only loss in qualifiers was 1-0 in Colombia. Their only other loss in the last 2 years was to Italy 2-1. Venezuela might not lose until the semis when they play Argentina.
Zero ball knowledge comment. Granted Rondon is 34 and way past his prime, but he's the top scorer in Liga MX and can still contribute. Venezuela's other striker Jhonder Cadiz scored 15 goals in the Portuguese top flight this past season. Mexico dominated possession after Venezuela took the lead and still couldn't create clear chances (outside of crossing and hoping for a scramble in the box) or find any semblance of a finish. Add on top of that they're basically playing in front of a home crowd in Los Angeles. (No hate to Mexico btw I hope y'all get the win in your next match and go through to the knockout round) As for the Ecuador match, 10-men is a stupid excuse. It's entirely Valencia's fault for going full MMA. You can only play against what's in front of you and so far La Vinotinto have gotten the job done. No one's saying they're suddenly favorites to win Copa America, but this is a solid win for Venezuela and shows that they clearly aren't whipping boys like they were in the past. Hate all you want but at least do some due diligence before trying to add nonexistent 'perspective' to a braindead take.
The Mexican fans that live in the US have to stop going to the games and buying their wack jerseys. Its the only way that anything will change. There's a reason why the national team doesnt even play in Mexico. It's ridiculous that a national team doesnt even play in their own country!
Soccer is still a business Mexico needs to stop bringing in foreign players from South America and give Mexican nationals a chance. Every team in Liga MX has a starting 8 of foreign players.
The decline started when the geniuses at the stop decided they only cared about making money. They took us out of Libertadores and made up a trash tournament. They add useless games like having the winner of each season play eachother. It should come at no surprise Mexico played the best when we had long season and we actually cared about Mexican players getting playing time.
The referee will favor Mexico vs Ecuador, because money talks, you are RIGHT; many federations in South America and the caribbean islands are broke running on deficits. That's why they have this tournament in America in the 1st place! Money makes the World go round! This tournament is supposed to be a windfall for BOTH CONMEBOL and CONCACAF.
@@tonytellingitlikeitis5708 I would'nt doubt the federation heads "advicing" the next match ref to be more linient towards Mexico 😉😉. You're 100% right. I just hope the Ecuadorian players and coaches can overcome any shady situations, be level-headed, and not get caught up in situations that might look shady and make them lose their heads to get someone sent off or cause a penalty. But they should know that even their own federation would prefer for Mexico to move on, to make more money, than Ecuador. Hopefully, that will give them more motivation.
It's not that easy. Mexico has a very huge casual fan base that doesn't really care about the success of the national team. They just care about the party before and the party after.
@chrisginoc yea but you are in the minority. Most of the fan base doesn't understand why gold cups are played, the difference between CONCACAF and other confederations or that there even are other confederations etc..... When Mexico plays it's a good time, family gatherings, drinking, hanging with friends etc... that's what most of the fan base cares about and because of that the stadiums are always going to be full. The jerseys will always sell. La seleccion mexicana is part of the culture.
My honest take and what these guys failed to mention is these guys lack confidence, tbh it’s not the skill all of these guys are skilled with great ball control & far skilled than Venezuela, however the main difference I saw is Venezuela smelled blood and fear, they knew the pressure that is mounding over this team and capitalized on it. What I saw in Mexico yesterday is not a group of players who are not good players what I saw were a group of scared players. Toward the end Mexico turned it up a notch and decided to play better and with confidence with pressure and most importantly complete passes however where was that throughout the entire game + I do believe Charly needs to get off and Chiquito needs to get on.
Blame Fox, they out bid them. ESPN never had Copa America right (that I remember) However, its frustrating because, say what you want about ESPN, their tournament coverage is FAR better than Fox when they had the rights
@@kevincordoba-llanos4856 i agree CBS and FOX they dont have what ESPN has which is chemistry between the analysts. Even when these guys get tense or butthurt it doesnt lead to awkward and off topic conversations. i got into soccer specifcally the PL about 2 years ago and to this day ESPN fc has the best coverage. Sky would prob be 2nd to that
Not to mention the quality of the stream games!!! In a HDR or 4K era I have to watch this games or highlights on a 720p or 1080p resolution ???? Cheez😢 Disappointed!!!!!
It doesnt matter if Canada qualify over Chile. Chile missed the last 2 World Cups whereas Canada played strong in their group. CONMEMBOL as a while is far superior than CONCACAF.
Greed and greed alone is the cause of Mexico sucking the lack of players in Europe is insane overpriced players by Mexican clubs players make to much in liga Mx and get comfortable and don’t want to go to Europe
Rather than listen to Tata they blamed him. Now they all see what he saw then, México simply is not developing quality players, let alone a golden generation. And truth be told, they never really have.
Never have developed quality players is an ilogical thing to say when the recently retired Rafa Marquez won all there was to win with Barcelon, And Hugo Sanchez who was golden boot 5 consecutive years While playing for Real Madrid and still holds the record of scoring 38 goals with just one touch each. These are two of many players like Flores who played for athletico madrid as well as luis garcia, carlos vela who while playing in la liga was the third too scorer just behing messi and cr7, gio dos santos who in his prime played for a couple teams in spain and scored that wonderful goal on tim howard on 2009 and many others, so to say what you said is to be misinformed. This generarion is simply by far the worst Mexico has ever had.
@@dagosegovia843 Naming a few good players in between does not make a golden generation. You also named someone who played in the 80's. One who retired almost 10 years ago. Another who was only really good for a few years, another who was only really good for one season and fell off massively afterwards, and yet you still forgot the one with the most Time playing at a high level with the utmost consistency and that is Guardado. But sadly who has Mexico brought up in order to replace any of these people? No one. Hell, you know who Betis got in order to fill in Guardado's role? An American.
Tata was shit, but he wasn't wrong about the fact Mexico federation is greedy and doesn't let it's stars leave for cheap so good teams actually want them. Sorry as a mexican, European teams aren't willing to pay top dollar for our players. They want them as money ball players (cheap but produce)
In Mexico the problem is that if a European team wants to buy a Mexican player the home team usually overcharges for them, they will want like 10 million for the player. So European teams are like "why pay 10 million for a mexican player when I can just go to Argentina and get a player for 3 million." Recently Julian Quinones was sold to a Saudi Arabia club for around 15 million dollars. The world cup is in 2 years and they send their forward player to Saudi Arabia like why? Its just about the money for Mexico.
@@ignaciodeltoro1778 The players aren't worth that much so Mexico has to sell them young and lose the ego. You let them develop in Europe like all decent national teams. Argentina and Brazil export maybe more than 400 players per year. You will get a decent bunch out of this type of system.
The thing with Santi I think is that besides actually needing the ball to reach him, he needs time. It does no good to bench him specially when all the other forwards we have don't do anything either.
Bro Santi has charly and antuna by him 😭😭😭 I know he missed the sitter but I would like to think with 2 actual creative players instead he would definitely get more chances 🤦🏽♂️😂
Why is Mexico not using there best possible squad?? They were doomed from the beginning with the players they took and left out. Where is Lozano, Corona, Raul Jimenez, Diego Lanez. Players that can make a difference and they also need to get rid of that coach and bring back El Piojo Herrera as the Coach
It’s a mediocre! I don’t support or even watch the games anymore. Ever since 2006, the seleccion Mx has not been playing with passion the love of the shirt and country. It’s an embarrassment.
