Perhaps the whole city knows them as "thread girls", but just a few people know their story…
Two tiny skinny sisters, twins, who almost everyone has probably met many times in the streets of Olomouc (Czechia). They worked as nurses at the University Hospital and have a story to make into a feature film. Only a few can imagine what they have been through in their lives. Despite the incurable fatal diagnosis of the son of one of the sisters, the loss of their mother, difficult years in the Netherlands, separation from family, related health and psychological problems that caused the development of mental anorexia - a disease in which one tries to deal with painful life events by refusing food. There is almost no day when they are not afraid to go out on the street and because of their appearance they have encountered insults, ridicule and hatred from people who have no idea what they have experienced. Some consider them drug addicts, others former prostitutes, and they do not even hesitate to tell them that they are monsters and zombies that will not be here for a long time. Unfortunately, it's only been a few months since one of the sisters has passed away. Even after all this, Mrs. Jurošková was able to find the strength in herself and bravely agreed to an interview that will tell you everything important about their story, a strong sisterhood and a hard fate full of prejudices of others. Mrs. Jurošková's life has not brought many happy moments, but we believe that with this video we can change a lot together with you and bring joy back to the life of a person who deserves it. All that is needed is to find courage in ourselves and share her story to remind as many of us as possible that not everything is in fact as it may seem at first.
