WARNING! This video contains swearing.
Watch Part 2 here: • “Amber Heard Is A GOLD...
Actor and former boxer Mickey Rourke joins Piers Morgan Uncensored for a fascinating interview in which he becomes emotional discussing his thoughts on the war in Ukraine and Vladimir Putin.
Rourke begins by discussing how the pandemic helped him regain focus on helping himself by working out, reading and "soul searching". After Piers asks what he's learned most about himself, he begins to explain the everlasting effects of the abuse he faced when he was a teenager, telling us "you live in shame and become a broken soul... or you get hard".
The pair then discuss Tom Cruise, with Rourke branding the Mission Impossible star "irrelevant", saying he has more respect for actors like Al Pacino and Robert de Niro.
Piers then asks about the war in Ukraine and Vladimir Putin, leading to Rourke recounting a time he met the Russian leader in 2014 at a children's hospital. The actor becomes tearful as he tells Piers he doesn't understand how or why Putin is causing such destruction in Ukraine and tells a very moving story.

What's fascinating to me is that Rourke once upon a time did work alongside De Niro and more than held his own as an actor. Rourke, unlike Cruise, actually had the talent (not just the looks) to become a legend like De Niro and Pacino and squandered it. Cruise, while capable of solid performances with the right material, never quite seemed to have the talent to become such a legendary actor, even though he was capable of reaching super stardom by playing to his strengths well. When we compare the current careers of Cruise and Rourke, it's obvious that Rourke's last good effort was "The Wrestler" 14 years ago and "Sin City" 17 years ago (and that came after a long string of absolute duds), whereas Cruise in the same timespan had almost nothing but universally acclaimed movies or megahits with at least 2 more coming up. Not to mention life choices and how healthy each of them seems, considering their age. Like it or not, that's the truth. And Rourke has nobody but himself to blame for how things turned out. So, ironically, this whole interview in which Rourke, among other things, calls Cruise irrelevant, comes off as nothing but a desperate attempt from Rourke himself to somehow be relevant.

Met Mickey back in the 90's on S Beach... He used to own a club off of Washinton- The Spot. Great time to be in Miami. He was living large and just getting serious about his boxing career. His ring name was El Marielito. He still looked good- pre surgery... but his face was beginning to show signs of the beatings he was taking in the ring. He would party with my buddies often. No bullshit kind of guy... would say whatever was on his mind. He didn't play the hollywood game... and he ended up paying for it.

@@anne1181 - Tom is a great actor but too much was played and expected based on how he looked and at times you can tell he is aware of that when shooting because that is why they cast him. So those 'dead eyes' are intentional and you see that more with actresses in my experience since it put more of them to be and look 'pretty' at all times, not much expression in the face and eyes. Johnny dep, Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt, Leonard D all have moves with those same 'dead eyes' so they don't break character TO displaying actual HUMAN emotion, and many of these actors hated that. This has been one of the number one complaint of many actors throughout time - it's limiting to them, thus frustrating, just like 'cancel culture' is. This is why people like Patterson when into Indi films to develop his skill of what he came in to do, act and have a variety of ideas and opinions!

If I had the choice of sharing a pint with Mickey or Tom there is no doubt in my mind who I would rather it be. One jobbing albeit very good actor with dodgy quasi religious views or a gentleman whom is consistently self aware and has the wherewithal to reflect on his past and future with such clarity and self awareness and honesty. Mickey you are a lovely human being, a true humanist and nothing in this life holds more weight than your compassion and beliefs. Forget movies and all the shallow shit around show business - keep on doing and being whom you are! x

Mickey is a great actor, It's sad that he's in so much pain. This man deserved a better chance earlier in life, regardless of the fame that he has. If someone took him under their wing earlier, he may not be so bitter and clearly upset over almost everything. Maybe its not too late. I hope after this interview a kind soul can reach out to him. Cheers.

Mickey has to let go of the hard life, that is what he didnt like about his up bringing, but its what he knows best, we are all subject to monkey see monkey do, this is why faith is important, to put the monster we built in shotgun, to only come out when it is absolutely necessary and not a way of life

Barrie Poole .. With all due respect man , a lot of people tried to take Mickey under their wings , Sly , Bob De Niro and Robert Rodriguez ..to name just a few , but he just squandered his golden chances with them by simply turning his head other direction. The issue is … Mickey , HIMSELF … he is a rebellious soul , always has been and his outspokenness even cost him an Oscar back in 2009 , so it went to Sean Penn instead.. The truth is he just doesn’t have an OFF switch, so I guess forget about anybody taking him under their wing ..like ever. . Tough , but it is what it is … you never spit in the well from which you drink !

And Diner was great. I know the REAL Mickey. He is my stepbrother. He has always been in a rage against everything ever since his Mother left his Father who was a drunk in Skenectedy NY to marry my Father. His interview was a lie. He didn't leave home at 14, he graduated from Beach Higfh just like all 9 of us did. His hate for my Father who gave him a life will never end. My Dad, a Cop, now deceased, Mickey hates him because he always told him to act like a Man because he was always fake crying. He claims abuse, that is bs, his Mommy , my wicked step mother was abusive to all 5 of my Fathers children, she protected Mickey, Patti. and Joey. Mickey has been lying about this story since he made his first movie. He has made a lot of really great movies, too bad he abandoned his own Family included his biological ones. Mickey was very abusive, I had plenty od bruises from him punching my arms growing up. He liked to fight. We were a large family living in Miami Beach, he didn't grow up in Liberty City either. That is a huge lie. Remember, he IS an actor. He could always throw on those tears too, ever since he was 7. C'mon Mickey, stop your bullshit. Even after all these years , Dad is dead, do you even know that my Father passed on Christmas day? Time to start telling the truth instead of acting like a bleeding heart Trump hating Liberal.

I do know that I read an online article a few weeks ago by his former manager that said Cruise was quite full of himself to put it mildly and this was before he was even in Scientology. TC's former manager showed him some articles on Cruise in a few teen magazines and reportedly threw them in disgust saying that he didn't want to be seen in them. Mickey is obviously being really contrite and honest here about everything he's gone through despite being rough around the edges and he's right, people in power really don't give a damn whether it's Hollywood or politics...including the "cancel culture".

Micky Rourke has an incredible soul despite all his very difficult past and the way his life turned out to be as a proud man with a humanistic opinion. He is struggling with life's existence and its meaning, has been disappointed by so many and his strong non negotiable opinions and ego at times created much prejudice on his career.
