Big Buddha in Japan: While the most famous Big Buddha (Daibutsu) is located in Kamakura (not far from Tokyo), there's another impressive Big Buddha statue in Tokyo called the Ushiku Daibutsu. This statue is located in Ushiku, about an hour's drive from central Tokyo. It stands at over 120 meters tall and is one of the tallest statues in the world. The Kamakura Daibutsu, while not in Tokyo, is also a popular and historically significant site, easily reachable from Tokyo by train.
Japanese BBQ (Yakiniku): Tokyo is a fantastic place to enjoy Yakiniku, a Japanese BBQ style where you grill bite-sized meat and vegetables at your table. There are numerous Yakiniku restaurants in Tokyo ranging from casual to upscale. Some of the best-known areas for Yakiniku include Yakiniku Alley in Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ginza. You'll typically find a variety of meats like Wagyu beef, pork, and chicken, as well as fresh vegetables and dipping sauces.
