What makes what Judge is doing even more incredible, the home run rate is down 22% versus its peak in 2019. Imagine if the juiced balls from back then were in play right now? Passing Bonds wouldn't be out of the question.

@@ghostisalive4276 judge should win mvp because ohtani impressed already last year as well (and still impressive this year) and it might be better for league wide fan support if he doesnt win mvp every year, some is totally fine, especially when theres no maris / judge type season competing with him that year. but want to remind that ohtani is still worthy of mvp even in multiple years when there is no competing season like aaron judge's. judge better hitting season and better candidate for mvp this year but ohtani is still worthy each year he plays both sides, so i can't ever complain about what he does as an mvp candidate. doesn't mean should win every year but i can't criticize ohtani for being in the race for mvp while he plays both

Guys, the steroid cloud hangs over Bonds, Sosa, McGuire and some others who hit a ton of home runs. Judge's home run total is clean. He deserves more attention from the media than he is getting. When he passes Maris' total (61), it will really be the most home runs "legitimately" hit by a ballplayer in a season.
@DennyJr22
@DennyJr22 Год назад
Steroids or not, at 62 he will have the AL record which will count for something. He also has six games to pass Babe's 60 in 154 game season, a lot of people back in the day complained about Maris having 162 games to pass him.

Judge is having a massive season and arguably one of the best hitting stretches we've ever seen (aside from Bonds) in the post-integration era. But to call it "unreal" is a bit of exaggeration. Again, the guy may lead the AL in just about every relevant hitting category but is 60+ home runs that impossible to fathom? Post-PED era, Jose Bautista bashed 54. Chris Davis crushed 53. Stanton hit 59 in 2017! So is it that surprising to see a healthy 6'7" 280+ pound dude playing in a hitter-friendly home ballpark hit 60+? Oh yeah, Judge himself and Pete Alonso hit 50+ ... as rookies. If you asked a fan/media/player 5 years ago if they could envision a hitter winning a triple crown or hitting 60+ home runs, they probably would say, "Sure, why not."
