This is what me and my best friend actually said about putting it in Hyde Park 10 years ago, he’s a retired policeman and we both sat down and had the same conversation. We actually said it should even be banned. Why are they coming into an English nation and celebrating another countries Carnival because it is really now, I kind of all of death. How long is it going to be until the police officer has murdered at the carnival of people not learned from that for a policeman that was killed in the Brixton riots all those years ago. But the police have to stop celebrating pride marches, my heart absolutely breaks for the police. You have no idea because I gave up everything in Scotland to become one and when I did finally train as one because I refused to go down the same sex route my life was turned on its head. In the 1960's, my home town (a mining town) held a yearly carnival featuring the Coal Queen. No buildings or businesses were boarded up. The police were on hand for the necessity of directing the traffic. People dressed and behaved in a decent manner and the carnival was enjoyed by the majority of townsfolk. How things have changed !!
When I lived in Los Angeles, I used to enjoy frequent trips to London because I felt so much safer there. Early morning runs through Hyde Park and I didn't worry about being robbed or attacked. I saw old ladies out walking their dogs. If there were police, I didn't fear them, because I was used to much more aggressive American police armed like soldiers (with the mindset of an occupying army). Those were the days. The British didn't know what they had and they threw it all away to become a Third World nation. I'll never visit the UK again not for fear of my physical safety, but because I'm a white man and we are quite evidently not welcome there. I don't want to get banged up in a British prison for saying the wrong thing to the wrong person. Suppose I have a quarrel with one of the protected class (we know who they are)? It's the same reason I don't travel to other Third World countries: there is no expectation of an impartial justice system.
I served in the Met for 10 years from 1979 and attended many Nottingham Hill Carnivals over that time. I was always on a standby public order team each time and we were usually located at a school which also served as a first aid centre. I was disgusted by the number of family men who turned up injured with their wife and kids having been robbed. After dark, we always deployed with shields to deal with the public disorder that took place. And yet, it was always reported to have been an excellent family day thus attracting even more unsuspecting victims the following year. During briefings, officers patrolling the carnival were usually told to turn a blind eye to the cannabis that was being smoked and to dance and appear to be having a good time and yet during the royal wedding celebrations (Charles and Diana) were briefed not to visibly join in the celebrations. Two tier policing has existed for a long time.

PLEASE READ: The UK is being privatised, and it all started with the planned austerity cuts by the Tory Socialists, which is still ongoing today. They are bankrupting local councils, local police forces, GPs and hospitals by cutting funding massively. We are having all these problems today because of these austerity cuts. The end goal is to have all of the UK privatised, including the NHS which is to switch to an American style healthcare system. In addition, people need to start look at Freeports and SEZs which are being installed into every borough in the UK, and these go from the South all the way to the top of the country. Corporate states inside of a State; it is ancient feudalism/ kleptocracy all over again. If your house is on freeport, it could be repossessed by the freeport using a compulsory purchase order. You can imagine the other disaster that will come with this, and it includes private police forces serving the ultra wealthy. You could say this is happening already, so I guess that means we are close to the dystopia. Obviously, the police forces can't just be replaced like that. However with enough funding cuts and bankrupting councils, they will eventually end up in the hands of the wealthy. In addition, low wages and poor growth will turn the nicest parts of the UK into American ghettos. You can expect the end of union support and human rights in general.
The government, the police and the courts have set a standard, we will all be watching to see if this is continued. I don't for a second think anything will happen in the future and they wonder why we are getting very fed up.
