Hi. Can you make a video of an interview question: "Why did you leave your last job?" What is the good answer if the applicant is AWOL on his last job? Hope you will read my comment and I also hope you can help me. Because I am applying for a new job but I was AWOL on my last job and it was actually my first job. I will really appreciate your help. Thank you and God bless!
@Dominick Maddux thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im in the hacking process now. Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
"Tell me about a time when you did not do as good a job as you could have" "I do not have an answer right now. Would it be alright if i went home and watched a Richard McMunn video? I'll get back to you with a brilliant answer"
I just had a challenging interview for a higher up position in my company today. I actually found myself needing to use option #2 and it worked out better than expected. They said "that's perfectly fine, let me ask you a similar question in this category that can help us achieve the same result" and i was able to answer the follow up!
To be honest, I don't where to start thanking you Richard. It's almost an year I attended an interview after following your interview videos I could go back back once again. After passing my first interview, your RU-vid videos still guided me further on all interview questions. Big up brother, a friend, mentour. I passed again on my second interview in June 2020, Thereafter I was called for salary negotiation, it was tough time for I had various RU-vid videos but I put all my faith in you. In August 2020 I was offered an acceptance letter which I was given time to still negotiate the salary. Finally I landed to my dream job. I'm lost of words to say many thanks Richard. Be blessed and may God bless you abundantly. My advice to job seekers is first know what you want in a job, is it growth or money. But I would advise you if you're still young and in your early years of job look for competence, experience look for skills. So as In the next interviews you will not taken for task why you want this salary you will be the one selling yourself out.
Since Covid 19 Happened I lost my job due redundancy I never knew where to start ! but God is good I found you. Mr. Richard Your trainings are grooming me and I must admit the interview questions that I did not know how to tackle are now a walk in the park. As I continue to listen to your trainings everyday I am fully equipped.
Richard, I can't thank you enough! After watching your videos repeatedly, I was successful at my interview. I am starting job training on monday. I am so thankful for your videos, it has helped me tremendously!
Your point #3 is brilliant. You do not have to do something firsthand to be able to give an answer. The experience of the situation from the receiving end is a clever strategy to use to provide an appropriate answer.
Its always good to be honest and open in all types of communication, not just interviews. When i do not know the answer i say can you repeat the question then i say what needs to be said, with that 20 seconds to think. Its always good to do research on the company and the job role first, generally speaking. I am a Christian, and i let The Holy Spirit guide me into every choice i need to make and it includes job interviews. Its always good to pray before an interview and just be determined.
I have watched so many interview video but none of them give me lots of inspiration, impression and confidence until I came across your video. Your video is the EXCELLENT guidance, and option 3 is what I would like to say about this kind of question but not so sure if it works out, and now feel very confident after watching your video, and I would recommend your video to my friends and someone in need because it is really helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CANNOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!
I just wanted to thank you for your content. I was concerned about finding a job at my age (61) I used your techniques, I interviewed for four jobs and got all four. The one I chose is with a company run by young, dynamic, driven people. Thank you again.
Sir Richard, thank you so much for YOUR HELP. I am finally starting in my new job this Monday, 2nd of August 2021. If not for your videos, I would have never known how to nail each interview with my new company. More power to you!
I used the 'can we come back to that question' in my recent interview, which gave me time to think without all the silence and waiting, and it worked a treat! I think the interviewers were impressed with this suggestion too! I got the job. Thanks so much!
When asked for a specific example, I liked the added idea of acknowledging that "I've been in that situation before..." before saying you need some time to think about it. Going straight to "I need time to think about that..." could create the immediate impression that you have nothing to share about that. This seems obvious to me know after watching this, but it was helpful and brilliant from my point of view. Thank you. Subscribed.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the video! I have some great interview videos here for you which have been helping people pass their interviews: 1. The first answer was basically "Let Me Google That For You", haha. Jokes aside, great content, I have an Amazon onsite tomorrow and your videos have been a great help.
Because of your channel I pass my two English interviews last week. Actually now I have a problem which position It is better for me. Thank you very much for your work. I will keep watching!
Great video, one thing I would have to say though which is probably implied in guides such as this is to also be yourself, otherwise you will look robotic or fake. I feel like the reason why I'm in the position that I am in my workplace is because of me just being myself right from the beginning. It could of been pure luck and wouldn't work for everyone but I had a simple resume (if it even was that) with just my relevant work experience, my available hours and my contact number if ever they were interested. During the interview I was just straight up, and honest and never used jargon words or anything that sounds smarter than I really was. This probably doesn't apply to everybody for every job, but being myself and blunt, worked for me and I am more than happy with my career progress at 25 years of age
Had my interview this morning and stumbled on the questions “so tell me about who you are? What makes you tick?” Even tho I practiced the “tell me about yourself question sooo many times 🙈🙈 rest of the interview went good I think she was impressed with my questions at the end! I have to wait till next week to see if I get selected for a peer interview 😬
That one was easy for me and I had my interview today,,, problem was when she ask"what did I do to customers that made them happy"I got stuck with that one
Thanks sir, you deserve my subscription. I am a graduate with a first class in my Master's degree but was wondering why interviewers were more impressed by my academics than my interview. I sometimes thought they were intimidated but after watching some of your videos, I understand where I was going wrong. One has to learn interview process to be good in it. Thanks once more.
I tell you, God blessed you with wisdom and intelligence 1000%. Thank you sir. I believe some day I will excel in an interview with these insights. Be blessed!
Little late. Saturday was my interview and I couldn't answer for 2 questions. I watched most your videos and l really appreciate your support and guidance.
Hello sir… I recently applied for an internal management position at my company. I haven’t interviewed for any position in almost 10 years as I have been satisfied working in my department for sometime. There had been some recent restructuring and I felt it time to advance into production v/s engineering. Your vid’s were amazing and helpful more than you could know. I have received a second and third interview using your tips. I will know this week if I got the job. Thanks a million
Hi Richard! I just wanted to say thank you for making these videos. They were a big help for me. I had my first interview ever for a state job a few weeks ago and got it!
This is more practical than what others are teaching here on youtube... There's no such thing as a perfect candidate who can answer all the question immediately within the interview. Some people takes time to process what they are going to say to come up a with good answer.
Hey , I want to say a very big thank you 🙏.. After watching your video few weeks ago , I went for a job interview in one of this big company ..I just got a job offer ..I’m so happy and a very big thanks to you .
Thank you for your help! You have empowered me with so much information…I’ve even turned down a couple of offers and it’s all due to your tips and guidance. Have a great day!! ☺️☺️
This is a great concept to keep in mind I never even thought that it’s okay to not know a question. Thank you for all your videos! My interview is today and I’ve been prepping with your awesome content all week lol wish me luck! 😬🤞🏼
I cannot find my previous comment on here but just wanted to thank you. I had my fourth and final interview today (with the CISO!) and I got the job! Thanks again!
I am here because I told the interviewer that I don’t know the answer and now I am waiting for the result I hope I’ll get the job offer. During the interview I introduced my self to them and I informed them about my skills and knowledge also I am 5 years experience and why I resigned from previous job in a proper way.
It sounds like you handled the interview well by being honest about areas where you weren't sure and highlighting your skills and experience effectively. Remember to stay positive while waiting for the results and continue to express enthusiasm for the role. If you're offered the job, be prepared to discuss your willingness to learn and adapt quickly to new challenges. Good luck!
Thank you for this, I never knew how much I needed this! Thanks to you I was successful in obtaining a Business Analyst role with the number 1 bank in New Zealand. Cheers
Thanks Richard, Today I had my interview in world's biggest asset management company and due to your mock interview questions and answer I was able to answer the question with confident, now fingers crossed for selection.
Hello Richard, thanks for the 21 interview questions! They gave me wonderful windows to answer interview questions. I was successfully selected as the best fit for the position I applied in Feb. thanks a lot!

Last week I was doing an interview for a software role, and I was asked a technical question that was a bit above me. The interviewer asked me what the difference between a mutex and a semaphore is, to which I told him "I'll be honest, I haven't gotten that far yet. Can you explain a little? Is this a command in C++ or just a concept?" He then casually asked another one of the interviewers to answer (which was difficult for her, because she wasn't expecting it and it's a difficult question). I said "Yeah, I haven't gotten there yet, but I'm eager and ready to learn what a mutex is," and I could tell he liked that, based off the way he responded. I managed to get 2nd interview (!). All's well that end's well.
I appreciate that! If you've not seen this already, I suggest taking a look at this video too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-tgrJ6Lirk2w.html Please would you SUBSCRIBE to my channel? I'd very much appreciate your support. Thank you! Richard 🙏
1st time seeing the post interview response process in regards to a follow-up question. That's stellar because most coaches or counselors neglect this vital step. However, it's been said that certain employers frown upon or don't like unsure answers, for example, Amazon (0:00 - 0:30).

Thank you very much for professional wording and positive manner to demonstrate how to answer questions well at job interview! Because I'm about to change for a new job, this video gave me a great vibe and room to realize how I can prepare in the right wording and speech tone (your examples provide a great template that I will come up with my wording to avoid plagiarism)!

Literal questions I've had at interviews over the years: INT: Can you pass a drug test? ME: Sure can, I just need a day to study! (Did not get this job, lmao) Different job. INT: Can you perform under pressure? ME: I guess I can, yes. INT: Can you give me an example? ME: Uhhhhhh, sure..... (*Humming and snapping fingers) Do do do do-do-do-do. Do do do do-do-do-do. Do do do do-do-do-do...

Hi Richard, Thank you for your great interview tips. I went for an interview the other day and after three hours of asking questions, my presentation etc the director of the company enthusiastically offered me the job along with my timetable and all details for starting work the following week. He also asked me to go back in to sign the contract the following day. Full of hope and excitement I went in the next day to sign the contract but to my shock the director told me that she had offered my job to one of his other employees.
I'm so sorry to hear that! But try to take the positives - you clearly impressed them with your skills and preparation. The right opportunity is right around the corner! All the best for the future :)
@@CareerVidz Thank you very much for your kind words. Well, what I cannot understand is if the employer can breach her verbal deal like that. She offers me the job, gives me all the resources, timetable and start date of my job and then the next day she says she has offered my job to another employee. How unethical and immoral!
That sounds really frustrating. The employer should be honest enough to tell you right then and there that you are not the right person for the position she is looking for.. however, take it as a challenge and a blessing as well. God has prepared you a better job opportunity than what she offered to you.

I would respect this a lot if someone I was interviewing said that if they could not answer one of my questions. But I'm not sure if all hiring managers feel the same!
I tried flubbing my way through the answer, realized the mistake I made afterwords, in the thank you email after, I put correct response in that, saying I may have misunderstood it initially. Waiting for call back, not sure if it helped, but knew it was a good follow up showing resolve.
Hi Richard, your videos helped me get past my first interview, I couldn't believe it! Now I am due for a technical interview with a line of managers and I am super nervous but I will give it my best. You have really amazing videos thank you!

Challenge question: Proven contemporary strategic leadership knowledge, skills and experience in a Middle School or equivalent context including leading the development and delivery of innovative teaching and learning programs and staff resulting in improved student outcomes.
0:12 - don't know answer but will get back to them. 2:12 - ask if you can answer it later. 2:52 - if it's a behavior interview question, instead of sayin u weren't in that situation tell them of a time u observed that by someone else.
Hello Richard, I'm so thankful to have found you and I keep listening you last couple of days before my interview. While I don't know if I'm selected for the job, I enjoy listening to your teachings. 😊
