Star quality doesn’t come much higher than an Obama. And last night at the DNC there were two. Michelle preceded her husband, the 44th US president, as they told the crowd to “Do Something “ to get Kamala Harris elected.
This convention, these speeches, are all about the power of women. And there’s a reason that’s playing so strongly in this particular election. What will Trumps response be to what’s happening on stage in Chicago?

It's so much more upbeat with Emily and Jon - there's no cynicism; and they talk to us, rather than to themselves. One thing I've noticed about this whole convention - the Americans aren't afraid to talk about love.

@@rosemarycuthbert4623 it was very well written and delivered well . Full of crowd pleaser lines. BUT very very divisive . In a country that is split 50:50 I would not recommend most of it to be honest. Listen to it with your ears and your mind open . The US needs unity not division.

@@bellepierre24 Yes I did. The content was fine, but journalists are supposedly wordsmiths so its not unreasonable to hope for a bit better presentation as far as the words are concerned. I didn't notice Jesus' participation but, unlike Trump, 'love thy neighbour as thyself'.

If she doesn't want to do it, it would b a mistake her do it. The fact that she operates in a different lane to most politicians, even her husband, and enters into the political fray only occasionally, are what makes her interventions so very powerful, and gives them moral force and clarity. Her life, and the lives of hr children, have been profoundly altered by Barack's decision to seek the presidency, and much as she disliked many of the trappings of being the first lady, she committed to doing it as well as she possibly could. We shouldn't expect or ask her to do it all again, specially once she has said and emphatic 'no'. Even Nancy Pelosi knows better than to push at that door too hard!

Yes, in the 2000 election between George Bush (the younger) and Al Gore who was the then VP in the Clinton administration. The election was close and went through the courts. You seem confused, as if you think they were talking about the 2020 electing between Trump and Biden. Keep up!

Yeah excellent. Afghanistan, Ukraine, Israel/Gaza, a major border crisis with no end in sight, inflation, major DEI hires in the administration whose incompetence and lack of care is astonishing, support of Hamas protestors, support of transing children. If you think that is excellent I can only assume you hate the US and wish to see it destroyed.
