I found in a thrift store a little black lacquer jewelry box by Sankyo that played the most beautiful haunting tune - I was so anxious to find out what it was. Very fortunately a Japanese friend was able to identify it as Haru No Umi - how lucky!

Two masters, whenever I attempt this song I listen to a recording, but this video is even better. This version is a master class. I am enthralled by the koto master since that is my instrument, she is fantastic!
I heard this musical piece years ago during a Music From the Hearts of Space broadcast. As a flute player I was very impressed with this string and woodwind duet. Today I had the opportunity to not only hear it again but see the musicians perform. I just ordered a Purple Bamboo Dong Xiao - Chinese Shakuhachi Xiao Flute (Right Handed, Key of G). I plan to teach myself how to play it. Thank you for posting this beautiful composition.
Música cuyos sonidos reflejan las palabras por el origen de el pensamiento Y idiomas desconocidos que por la forma de las letras resultan descifrables por intuición
@@johnywhite8962The koto, a stringed instrument, is written "琴" in kanji. There seem to be various types of koto, but I am not familiar with them. The flute is called shakuhachi, and is written "尺八".
What was Michio Miyagi going trough in that day? So easy is for us, to recognise and appreciate a moment of is sublime inspiration. Words are unnecessary, for the interpretation of this two fabulous musicians.
