Carpenter Brut and Seth Ickerman got so much positive feedback from this video that they crowdfunded a film. I really like this music, not all the time, but I like it. Thanks for checking it out 🙂 I also laughed out loud when you said that she'd been Bill Cosby'd 😏
Take a look at Carpenter Brut "Le Perv". Also highly recommended. Was introduced to his music by the soundtrack to Hotline Miami 2. I think Carpenter Brut and Perturbator are the best in synth-wave atm.
When that beat kicks in, you can't help but get into it!.This is hands down still the best music video I have seen in entire life. CB's symbol is the pentagonal rose that's the ships window.
That's the best way to describe it, saying it's a cool video. I've watched it several times and you notice details, like for example the other girl you see first is actually the car he is driving, things like that, but ultimately it's very multifaceted and many interpretations make sense, maybe too many, so it boils down to a cool retro 80s style inspired video. I also like this kind of electronic music occasionally but I quickly tire of it as well. If it's a good piece then it can be fun and cool for a short time but I couldn't listen to it for a prolonged time.
I think you really have to have a deep nostalgic hankering for the 80's, its music and overall aesthetic to really appreciate Synthwave continually. There are some amazing artists out there including Gunship, Scandroid, Power Glove and the like, and all go for different types of 80's vibes. Carpenter Brut fits the Darksynth moniker because that sub-genre of synth has heavy metal and punk roots. So it goes for a more Sci-fi Blade-Runner-esque Cyberpunk tone which really ramps up the electronica. Whereas others you will find go for a more free-flowing romantic 80's vibe, and there's also a bunch in between which fills the entire 80's gap. But as I say, you have to really be stuck in the 80's to get the most out of it. Because Synthwave is just one giant love letter to it. Synthwave is beginning to bleed out more into popular Culture now too. A good example of it is Blinding Lights by The Weeknd. Which for me is just incredible!
