When I mentioned to Erik on the phone that my son was going to be with me when I visited him and we wanted to find a place to hunt hogs one of the days, he IMMEDIATELY found a spot and baited for the feeders. Then, he spent all day with my son teaching him how to shoot. That’s the kind of guy Erik is. I mess with him #wrongammo but the internet should know that this is one of the good guys.
Eric, you may have given them the wrong ammo… But I don’t think you actually loaded it in the gun prior to their hunt. There’s more than one person who made the mistake. Jim and Ruger should have checked the ammo. Thank goodness no one got hurt.
A friend of mine loaded an 8mm Mauser round into his Springfield 30-06 and fired it. Didn't do it intentionally taught him a lesson though. I changed out the extractor on a guys Ruger Model 77 270 one time he said it didn't want to eject fired rounds. I couldn't see anything wrong with it and asked him to bring me some ammo. He brought me the box and his son had put .243 shells in a 270 box.
So what’s the deal now with the hog? In Jim’s video he ends by claiming that Ruger hit it and the shot was through and through. Here in the end it for sure looks as if there was no blood trail and the hog was never found. Both could be accurate [EDIT: Eric shared that the hog was found the next day. Great news]
