The question raised by Jewar is a valid one and requires an answer. Of all the works this government is doing planting trees is very critical at fighting drought & food security for the country. The government should provide factual tracking and evidence based data about the success of the program. This is a program all Ethiopians should rally behind and support. The benefits we gain are for all of and it is a safe way of keeping the country & passing it to the future generations. It is also wise to plant some fruit trees around their homes. It is like killing two birds with one stone; since they will enjoy the fruit while protecting the environment. The recent landslides are a good wake up call too. If there are trees the roots protect the soil from erosion and it will have significant role at protecting life. Let us appreciate the good things that are happening and ask questions just like this when we are not clear about the situation.
