Great job. Really awesome, i am sure you had taken care of the grub screws. I likee the idea of usong thread lock on all the bolts. Would it be good to seal both the faces on the bell housing and the motor with gasket seal for betterment?

All these videos on you tube saying you must use 2 layer gloves. Have a person with a hook stick to pull you away and safey goggles etc. Damien puts battery in passenger seat and holds wire to connection. hehehe. Damien makes the world a better place.

Good tip on getting the knockoff plate. Would it be worth adding to the mount plate an extra flange at the top with a hole to hang it from while installing?

Thank you for the video. I am researching constantly trying to find what motor and/or kit that’s best for what I need and was hoping you would be able to help me out? I am building my own project cart, that is pretty much a side by side but for riding and racing . I have educated myself I believe to no a lot but still can’t find the best fit for what I need (torque and different speed settings. I don’t no if you would have any clue but thought I’d try to ask for help but if not it’s okay. I don’t want to buy anything cheap and end up breaking , this will be expensive I’m sure which I no but I just want to figure what motor kit is best. Thank you either way

No controler, no power brakes, no power steering and plenty of ozone... I subscribed.

Personally i would install the clutch so you cut power to the wheels for take off, my opinion is having a clutch you won't need ebrakes. That's how i will build when i do a e car build

Dude, you are really lucky your "Controller" did not weld shut and made you kill somebody. Because when you put high current between two small spots of metal - it is called spot welding.

This needs a spring rectractable potentiometer and a lot of mosfets with capacitors paired within contained within a box to be compact.

It is really important to install a clutch on a mechanical transmission, to separate the power of the motor transferred to the gearbox, this to have control of the speeds

Hi Damien, thanks for sharing! Was it just the camera angle - it looked to me like perhaps less than an inch of the spline would be engaged with your coupler? Is it enough meat, would you not run a risk of shearing it under heavier load?

Can you make a list of income and expenses. Such as: expenses Purchase price -200 € Power steering -50 € income: surge tank +10€ and so on... The same would be very cool with the weight. What about things like exhaust. And the whole other stuff. how much does that weigh? Thaaanks :)

lol after an MOT I drove from a local garage to my house and couldn't understand why I was getting a weird burning smell. Until I realised I left the handbrake on. Glad to see it I'm not the only one. While I'm here can I pick your brain? What size of motor would you consider to be good for an 870kg (kerb weight) K11 Nissan Micra ? ? ? and can I attach an electric motor to a CVT automatic ? ? ? I've been told that hp in electric motors are meaningless and have been struggling to figure out what is meaningful. All I know is the typical Micra Engine has 79 Nm or 58 lb.ft at around 4000 rpm and all motors I've been drooling over occasionally all are being sold at £3,000-£4,500 a price I'm nowhere near ready to consider buying it for. I saw your video on the motor selection and have considered contacting scrap yards and forklift repair shops in the past but my nerve to do so has waivered. especially when I'm still clueless about the size of the motor I should be looking for. I'm pretty confident in my soldering skills and look forward to tackling the controller when I get the money but the mechanic stuff is another story. Hence I've unfortunately put it off for a while now.

Curious, looking at diving in and considering a warp 9 in a vow big, no ac no power steering. Looking for a daily driver, just a commenter, but need to drive 90 miles (45 miles each direction). The question, can I use lithium, drive it nice and slow and work it out? Or do I need to spend the money for an AC motor and take advantage of lower energy usage in an AC environment. Target vehicle 66 bug.

You sould use starter solenoid removed on the engine, that can handle large amount of current

Given that a multiple (expensive) ratio gearbox not a prerequisite in an electric vehicle ,why not source a cheap 4 speader and flog the expensive one?
