The Château is an exceptional example of a Château fort, originally a location of regional government in the medieval period, then converted to a luxurious country house in the 17th century. Its commanding location boasts stunning views over the Célé valley.
The Grand Ballroom (or Salle des Etats) is the main hall, dating from the 14th Century. The Parliament of Quercy met here during the Hundred Years War. This magnificent room has in recent times been used for banquets of up to 80 people, and as a venue for concerts allowing seating for up to 120.
Of the 11 bedrooms, 9 are double or twin rooms, and 3 are single rooms. Among these, of particular historical significance is Le Poète, named after the great French poet Paul Valéry, who spent many happy times here.
The Château contains a significant collection of authentic tapestries and antique furniture, negotiable separately.
