Ruling Court shot straight to the top of the ante-post market for the 2025 renewal of the QIPCO 2000 Guineas with a devastating display on debut at Sandown.
Trained by Charlie Appleby and owned by Sheikh Mohammed’s Godolphin operation, connections went to €2.3million at the Arqana May Breeze-Up Sale earlier in the year to secure the exciting son of Justify.
Sent off the 4-9 favourite for the Martin Densham & Peter Deal Memorial British EBF Maiden Stakes the same team landed with Arabian Crown 12 months ago - and has also been won by the likes of Nostrum and Classic ace Kameko in recent years - he obliged with the minimum of fuss in the hands of William Buick. Now that was impressive. Lovely looking colt. Looked like he sweated up before the off, found himself behind a wall of horses, but pulled out and flew. Not sure what he beat, but very impressive turn of foot. Not at all surprised the bookies were im pressed for next year's classics. Any horse that comes along and scuppers Mr O'Brien's hoards is OK by me.

@@robertdelacy3434 reading is pedigree, I would say he should get ten in time, but you never can tell? I've seen a few who have out stayed there pedigree, I was really surprised that Content seems to stay the mile and a half in the Irish Gutless, looking forward to watching her half sister Bedtime Story soon.

A fairly good performance for a first time out, but still plenty to prove, the 12 /1 for the classics is pretty ridiculous at this stage, was a little bit put of by a slight high head carriage and him looking a little sweaty, but we will see next time?

Was favourite for the 2000 guineas before putting a hoof on track. Looks good. Then again, Sandown on a Thursday? Probably didn't beat much.

It's very hard for a newcomer to be impressive at sundown in soft and on its debut. Having said that I think I am correct in thinking that Dancing Brave did something similar so who knows. What is clear to me is that Sheik Mohommad will be sending more of his mares over to Ireland to be covered by Justify and it also looks like Justify is stamping his stock with their ability to stay middle distances very well. Albeit with one or two sprinters e.g Ramatuelle.

@@nightowl7459 Hiya again, Night Owl. I reckon High Definition was a bit overhyped, beat absolutely nothing as a juvenile, or maybe never truly trained on from 2 to 3. PS I actually was at York on Juddmonte day in 2022 when Baaeed trotted home. I backed High Definition e/w as a cheeky bet. Yep, that went well LOL

@@keithf_I do too, I was just trying to educate that clueless clown, all trainers get horses that don't progress even O'Brien whose had plenty in his time, I was actually a little disappointed at York, I thought Moore should have made far more use of High Definition against Baaeed and ride him for stamina, instead he set a really slow gallop and tried to out sprint him.

@@nightowl7459 Like I say I was there that day. Almost broke into tears the way Baaeed showed his class. I wasn't aware of the slow gallop ... not the way to go about trying to beat Baaeed over 10 1/2f, and made even more difficult tactically when you think Moore was riding a horse with seemingly no change of pace whatsoever.
