I'm hauling tractors through Italy on my way to the island of [ISLAND NAME]. If I mostly behave myself I should end up with 50 grand in the bank. Or more. Ideally more. Does this I'm driving more carefully that usual? What do you think?

Yes, enough in this episode for the Classic tag, I 'd say. More Italian toll booths, French officials, 'poxy little islands', chains of ferries, sordid Greek bus stations, gratuitous jack-knifing, tantilising references to a return to the Sunshine Funbus, etc...

Lol. In South Africa we have brown beetles that fly around in Summer/Christmas we call flying peanuts. So I can mentally imagine flying olives... others call them Christmas beetles. But they literally look like peanuts with all the brown papery under shell bits. Also, if you want an ick station - try out Durban central - it does trains (when they run and the tracks haven't been stolen for scrap metal) and buses and is truly revolting. Every vertical surface is a urinal...

when you drop off your trailer, rather than pressing continue, you can press the button next to it, which shows you the jobs that that depot is offering, saves having to drive to the front gate and hit the green lozenge of spinning joy.

Funny that those two do the same thing. Since one of them is called "Freight Market", exactly like the map-wide freight market. And the other one is called "Current Company Job Offers", which is what you'd expect the button to be when you drive up to some company and just yell out of your cab: "Yo fellas, got any jobs here?"). That's good UI design. Keep them guessing what each thing does.

43:28 Can 100% confirm. Those dudes drive it hard. Been to Corfu a couple years ago and the bus driver of the airport transfer bus has teared it down the small mountain roads at unsafe speeds, honked at literally any traffic, and basically drifted in the hairpins. Quite the excitement after 2 hours of flying.

I was recently driven in a bus across the Finnish arctic by a Russian. The guy next to me was a British HGV driver and he was white with fear. I was fine, I'd seen the Colonel drive and knew everything would be OK. Maybe a slight fine.

I got a job of taking a yacht from Porto vecchio to Zurich in ETS, which made no sense to me as why would you take yacht from the Med to a land of mountains thats land locked!! Still it paid well. I love your series Cnl. I enjoy your commentary even when your talking about nothing.

Colonel, if you are ever in Australia, I would suggest you never travel the national highways because everywhere you go the roads are plagued with large (but slow) SUVs towing caravans. Such people are locally known as "grey nomads" and they are curse on the roads.

The mechanic bill is going to hurt .. Get fragile freight and on time freight level ups rather than dangerous goods.. If you want to see how much damage you have done and also the trip summary , press the 0 key on your num pad , it cycles through it all. (including stuff that is not relevant for single player activities.) . p.s. I now have 15 trucks and 5 garages .. maybe I should sell all the other trucks and depots and I would be a millionaire..Thanks for the video

How about passenger announcements in the truck, done in the local accent of course? Okay you may need to get a truck load of cattle, sheep, fish (dead or alive) or chickens (with or without their druid), particularly if you want to get some sort of feedback on your driving technique...

I've never understood the game design on these kind of sims, with the "tired" mechanic, then not have any option to satisfy it, because you need a designated sleeping zone.

It's the same as in real life. Truckers have to plan in advance where to sleep (can't stop in the middle of a highway) before they run out of available time (it's all electronically recorded on the tachograph and the police can check it retroactively so they really need to adhere to it). And from my experience in ETS2, when the first warning appears, there's pretty much always a rest stop you can reach before you run out of time; it's when you ignore those first warnings you can get fined before you find another rest stop. Or even black out completely if you keep ignoring it.

If you want really entertaining, text and drive. (In the sim, not IRL), high score for the number of characters you can input before the virtual fatal accident. I tried texting MrsOrb while driving in ETS2...You understand the real life reasons soon enough.
