The fact that it's almost 15 years later and she still gets emotional like it happened yesterday... wow. This is the effects of senseless violence; the families who have to live with it. RIP Shondale 🌹

Same, although losing my "parents in law" when I was 17 & my man was 19. We're 20 years together, I knew his parents three years, lived there a year etc. I still cry just as hard. Any music they listened to and I hear it...I instantly tear up! It doesn't get easier as there are so many big moments you'd want to share with them, emotional support, doing family stuff etc. We got to see the true colours if all "family" members. We were completely alone!! I cried with this momma! Blessings from the Netherlands 🙏💚🇳🇱

This shines a light on how messed up our mindsets are and needs to be talked about and no longer avoided.. As an original brotha myself I see she in pain but accountability needs to be taken a cross the board.. This is a prime example of a single mother home, I can tell she fed into the emotional and warped mindset side of things, how she thinks it's cool for the young ones to wonder around the streets and slap box, that's beginnings of banging ma'am I'm from LA, California home of banging .. You seen the signs and instead of giving him a lesson it sound like you facilitated behaviors.. Trust I feel your pain and guilt but first you have to admit where and who went wrong with you. Then when you find that out then you have to then take responsibility for how you moved throughout your life, and this part no one is willing to face and understand .. We have to keep it real with each other and stop being so damn nice especially when we know the truth.. Only way we move forward, or rather everyone just be stagnant or move backwards.. Your choice, don't get left behind them get mad that you can't understand..

Ma’ You did everything you were suppose to and then some. Don’t feel guilty. As young men we get into stuff. It’s in our nature. I’m lucky to have escaped certain situations. You were an awesome mom!!!❤❤❤ You’ll see him again. And this is coming from a former teenage boy who’s lost friends to the same fate. And also who’s been in certain situations that could have had my mom sitting in your seat. I’m 28. I hurt for you ma damn this is heartbreaking 💔 💔💔💔💔 The reason they bring his name up is because he is/was a iconic person.

People have selective hearing. She is criticized because she says her sons were the men of the house. At no time did she say she pushed her sons into the streets. She says she always encouraged her kids to stay in school and Tooka had just left a wrestling match at school the day he was killed. The oldest son got in trouble and was in boot camp and since Tooka was the second oldest the responsibility of watching the younger sister while mom worked fell on him. There is nothing out of the ordinary about older kids watching the younger kids while parents work. For the person who asked where was she and why was Tooka taking care of the sister, she said she was working to make sure her kids had everything they needed.

It’s people who try to blame the mothers. Single mother this please be quiet. I know people who have come from two parent homes and still turn out messed up. Clearly this woman was fighting for her children. Sometimes being a product of an environment doesn’t always mean someone did something wrong. Some people are so closed minded and clearly has no real understanding of life. I pray for this woman. I don’t even see her son’s name in all these videos of Chicago as an aggressor, but as a “casualty of war”. There will be so many opinions, but at the end of the day God will prevail despite what anyone believes.

Exactly I totally agree. This is why I left Chicago. Chicago would not take my son! I pray for her n her family. I pray for all the Chicago residents especially black communities because it’s gonna take them to let some of those fathers that are locked up on non violent charges actually out so they can father these young men. Because that’s the solution! Make it right Chicago! Bring Black families back together

I don’t think anyone but the streets will ever know. Parents often times don’t see the same side of their kids that the streets do. Who knows what beefs he might’ve had and why. I’m sure he was in a gang. And if you’re getting suspended from school for getting into it with teachers and security guards, you’re definitely not some timid pushover that never did anything controversial.

This momma is right! Absolutely NOBODY should diss the people whom have passed away from us and sadly aren't with us no more on our earth and talk bad about them!!! Instead, look in the mirror and analyze yourself! That's SO DISRESPECTFUL and frankly the weakest/most pu$$y thing a person can do! The dead should be LEFT ALONE and be respected/remembered by the people/family/friends whom REALLY care for them! ANYONE else should stfu and let the families grieve without having to hear others talk sh*t/lies about their passed loved ones, esp without knowing the FACTS etc. We are Dutch/from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 but my man is 50% Indonesian. His dad was born in Indonesia and came to the Netherlands with his parents and two sisters when he was around 9. His mom is Dutch. My man lost BOTH his parents at the same time. Well his dad was dead instantly due to his skull completely being fractured/dented in on his left side (from our view his right side), even though both had THE BEST helmets, suits, boots on, best bike etc that excisted then. His mom lived for another 20 minutes but then died due to all the internal bleedings. They went to a motor/bike meeting to cruise a certain route with many friends on a saturday or sunday, I'm not too sure what day it was then (yesterday the 23rd of April it was the day they've been gone from us for 17 years). Couple days before me & my man had our 20th relationship Anniversary. This was also the same date his parents got into a relationship! Anyways the day they died it was beautiful sunny weather. My man FELT the EXACT time they got into the accident but brushed the feelings off, even though he didn't got a call back from his parents, which they ALWAYS did the first stop they could make. I was 17, my man 19 when we lost them both. We were waiting for his parents to get home to open the garage door for them and tell them we were planning to go live together, found an appartment etc as I was turning 18 in June. Instead the police came. On their way home it happened and two of their friends (which were brothers) saw it happening. They never stepped on a bike in traffic again. It took them YEARS to ride again. They only drive on tracks now. I got into a serious relationship with my man at age 14 in April 2003 in high school (he is two years older. I was born June 1988, he in July 1986 so for a month he is only 1 year older...) His parents took me in like their own. I lived with them for almost a year. I saw them as my own parents in a way too if that makes sense? I was EXTREMELY close with his parents, esp his mom! They were the parents I never had but always wished for. April 23rd 2006 parents died, so I only had the privilegde of knowing them for three years. Should anyone be interested or can relate...the video of the cremation service is on RU-vid under the Channel: IndoSpartan. Their names are Alex & Henriëtte Messak. Beautiful, most helpful, loving, caring, respectful, honest and loyal people ever! Anyways, this was all over the news and internet because it was about a young (under 50) married couple, leaving two children behind (two sons). As soon as people read about the fact they were on a bike at such a meet up...people left comments like; "good for them, they deserved this as they probably drove too fast as they all do" "oh whatever, these were just another biker people" "oh well we just got rid of another annoying and loud bike"... Y'all whom are bikers, know how much car drivers hate bike riders. People judge them, brush them all over the same brush etc! People left HORRIBLE/DISRESPECTFUL comments, saying whatever they wanted being happy about it, joking about it! Things I can't even write here! They didn't think like "oh what if they're sons/family read this"! I saved some names of the ones leaving such comments as I personally wanted to go to them and confront them! Alex & Henriëtte died because of SOMEONE ELSE driving a CAR!! We drive on the right side in our country so the right lane is for the slow mfers. His dad drove to the left side to get past that car that was break checking them multiple times for no reason (no dad wasn't on car tail). When the person in the car saw dad was going to pass them (for his own but esp his wife's safety, getting away from the dangerous break checking), the car steered heavy to the left A LOT in their direction, on mom & dad their lane. Dad had to swerve so they wouldn't get hit by the car and the bad thing was that there was a puddle oil leaked on the road, so they smashed into the road blockers/dividers. Those little poles damaged their entire bodies. Lots of open bone fractures etc. The bike was broken in half! The front broke off! The frame itself was in half! Dad drove bikes since he was 17, had every drivers license that excists etc. He had lots of experience and never drove crazy making wheelies etc, esp not with his wife on the back! The people talking sh*t about the dead will get their karma for it!!! The crazy thing is how many similarities there are with dates like both getting in relationship at same date, their dying also in April. Grandma died on the day Alex & Henriëtte had their cremation etc etc. It goes on and on. There are no "coincidences", like everything happens for a reason. They wouldn't have been able to live on alone as they were unseperable. It "had to be" this way, doing what they loved most, which was spending time together and cruising on the bike whilst enjoying the sun and nature spots. For us it was so difficult though. Family turned out not to be family...we saw everyones true colours. We were alone from that moment on. Just my man & myself, so young not even an adult yet with the knowledge you need to live on your own. For exanple how to do taxes and what you have the right to get etc. For example orphan money from the government etc. School should teach us these things! Our brains are only fully developed at age 25! We had no emotional support, nothing! "family" told us we couldn't afford the mortgage monthly (looking back...we CERTAINLY COULD as we both went to school and worked!) They made us sell the house! We always had the dream to get the house back! Five years ago we were looking to purchase a house... Four years ago we got a notification his parents house was for sale, so we INSTANTLY called, went to look day after, did offer, got accepted. The owners knew of our story still and were happy we got our house back. The pain and missing never went away for me, nor got easier. Our children don't have grandparents, will never experience it... We still have so much we'd want to talk about with the parents...things you don't really think about when you're so young... We think about how life would've been if they were still alive and it hurts! We would've been able to share pregnancy, I could've talked to mom about it, shop with her, take her out for lunch etc etc. We think about them often! This is so sad as well. I cried with this momma. I felt her pain. I agree with her that record labels should have rules as for lyrics. As for now, the scene is TOXIC AF, INFLUENCING our kids to do dr*gs, have lots of seggual partners, being for the streets, must have cars, jewelry blablabla. It's all VERY BAD influences, FEMALE RAPPERS TOO!! We need lyrics raising kids, teaching etc! Not glamourizing an effed up life, doing very bad things making it seem it is cool! SHAME on ALL "artists/celebs" being bad influences! Just like the Kar/Jentrashians! They do it too in their own way! Spread positive/good messages with hertz/frequencies that are good for us! SOME do, but the big ones all sold their soul for fame and can't take any of it with them when they die. Most aren't even happy, say they were happier before the fame. Entire Hollywood is SO effed up! Apologies for the long essay. Blessings, love, light and positivity from the Netherlands 🙏💚🇳🇱

I’m sorry but I only have little sympathy for a mom that pushed her son(s) out into the street just because they’re “the man of the house.” Like what tf was she doing!?! Why did Tooka (and his older brother) felt the responsibility to take care of the little sister!?! WHERE WAS THE MOM? I feel like she pushed both them boys out into the street. She put that pressure on them at a young age when all they should’ve been doin was focusing on school or something
