常陸大津の御船祭は、茨城県北茨城市の大津町の佐波波地祇神社で5年に1度、5月2日と3日に開催される春の大祭です。2024年は5月3日（金・祝）の本祭りが開催されます。
この祭りは、豊漁と海上安全を願うもので、国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定されています。祭事船である「神船」は全長約14メートル、幅約3メートル、重さ約7トンで、車輪はなく、井桁状に組んだ木枠100丁の上を若者が左右に揺らしながら滑らすように曳いていきます。神船の両側には海の幸が描かれており、水主（歌子）の歌う御船歌や囃子に合わせて約500人の曳き手によって町中を練り歩きます。最大の見せ場は、直角の路地を曲がり、観客の目の前を走り抜ける場面です。
御船祭の開催に合わせて、近くの北茨城市漁業歴史資料館よう・そろーでは、地場産品の販売やキッチンカー、ステージイベント、花火などが同時開催されます。
The Mifune Festival in Tokuriku Otsu is a spring festival held every five years at Sawamiwaji-Gi Shrine in Otsu Town, Kita-Ibaraki City, Ibaraki Prefecture, on May 2nd and 3rd.In 2024, the main festival will be held on May 3rd (Friday/Holiday).
The festival is designated as an important intangible folk cultural property of the country to pray for good fishing and maritime safety.The Shinsen, a festival ship, is about 14 meters long, 3 meters wide and weighs about 7 tons, and has no wheels and is towed over 100 well-shaped wooden frames so that young people can slide from side to side.On both sides of the sacred ship, seafood is depicted, and about 500 people parade through the town to the mifune song and musical accompaniment sung by the master of water (song).The biggest highlight is the scene where you turn a right-angled alley and run right in front of the audience.
To coincide with the festival, local products will be sold, kitchen cars, stage events, and fireworks will be held simultaneously at the nearby Kita-Ibaraki City Fisheries History Museum.
