untrue. he actually wastes a huge chunk of mana by doing the parry instead of just blocking the dp. this combo can be done with ~170 mana and minimal grey health. The real problem is grappler can't get much grey health in awakening. you block the dp then do the jumping charged grab. You do your stomp, then... your health is back! it'd be practical if not for the fact that you just can't have grey life as grappler once you get into awakening lol. pretty sure he's the only character in the cast who's DEBUFFED by his awakening lol.

Against certain reversals, it won't go into the cinematic counter. This lets you do different combos!

Even without the strange parry cancel, the combo started with just an air grab.

There are some micro dashes and a little bit of timing it is hard and very situational but doable

you can do an unoptimized one without microdashes for ~823. it's no longer a ToD, but if you're having trouble you can skip the microdash 2b and just do steiner.
