I’m honestly really surprised and impressed with this pack. Because they put aquatic creature in non-aquatic pack. This is really exciting knowing that Frontier isn’t restricting themselves. I absolutely love all the animals, although white rhino babies shouldn’t have predominant horn on their noses. Love the video and pack, hopefully the next pack will be just as good as this one. Also, what interspecies bonus would get for white rhinoceros, cuz you forgot to check xD
Those things hanging in the sausage trees are the sausages from which it gets its name. It is basically a massive seed pod/fruit type thing. They can get really big and heavy and they are very hard, so where I live in South Africa, you are advised not to park your car under them or to have a nap under them because if they fall, its like a rock!! Very happy with the Africa pack!!
Love this pack! I can't wait to get it. I do have 2 problems with the meerkats though, guests should not be able to enter the habitat, they are known to bite and I know someone who lost half his finger to a meetkat😅 Also they definitely need climb-proof fencing, they are extremely good escape artists and will apways look for a way to breach a fence. My stepmother ran 2 animal parks here in South Africa and I spent a lot of time with them, even raising multiple babies. Thanks for always keeping us up to date with amazing videos Lady💜💜

Im very surprised that they cant climb any climbing frames tho, lol.. makes it easier to build a habitat for them tho! Hahaha!
Those things on the Sausage Trees are like fruits, sort of😂 I have two trees in my backyard, I took a few of those "sausages" back in 2010 while in Kruger and it's very similar to a Baobab, which also had these massive fruits with seeds in. They take about 3 months to sprout
The glass is one way glass the see through side would be guest view into the enclosure but the animals in the enclosure can't see guests... Used in some zoos... Nocturnal houses looking in dens... Doesn't disturb the animal
Now that we have meerkats coming, we can have Timon, Simba and Pumba! My local zoo, Singapore zoo, actually places our meerkats, lions and river hogs enclosures side by side. It's so cute. 🥺

I'm still very upset for the exhibit animals... I can't stand no more these static animations... Really really hope one day frontier will change them... By the way habitat animals are really beautiful, watching them moving around felt so real, from the images so far i wasn't expecting they were so freaking awesome! White rhino is simply stunning!
25:00 fun fact: the African penguin is sometimes known as the jackass penguin, as its calls sound like a braying donkey. Which the game does an excellent job of depicting! Also, I could swear the baby fennec looks like a soft toy! XD
I think they make the statues in different styles as they would then match the area you would use them most. The rino statue matches the base game Africa theme, the penguin is closer to the classic zoo theme or aquatic theme. Personally I like the style variety.
Hey DeLadySigner, I remember you asking for more small animals because of how cool you made the Chinese Pangolin in Little Asia, Well the Fennec Foxes are nocturnal so making a little indoor habitat for them will be very appropriate, Also the Southern White Rhinoceros is a perfect choice for the Safari Park, For the Meerkats it can go either way and I am liking them more and more by hour!
Love this pack, one of the best i would say just. I really hope they can do what they're doing in JWE 2 and add some true underwater animals. Sharks, dolphins, whales etc in a future DLC, that would be siiick
I've been watching a lot planet zoo videos latelt and now that I've bought a new gaming laptop (so that I can meet the recommended requirements) , I'm sooo ready to purchase this game this coming steam summer sale lol!!! This pack is the definitely the 1st dlc I'm gonna get because I love the Fennec Foxes! Can't wait :')

@@buildingwithpap149 I haven't tested it yet with the game so I guess I'm not that reliable yet? Lol. But based on my research, this game seems to be one of the most demanding in terms of system requirements that even the most high-end PCs will lag if the visitors reach around 5k+ :( I got the Lenovo Legion 5 (2021) Ryzen 5 5600H (CPU) upgraded RAM to 16GB, RTX 3060 (Mobile GPU) with 6GB dedicated VRAM and I'm not expecting it to run Ultra without dropping FPS below 60. Maybe Medium-High setting would be acceptable if I want high FPS. In fact, the recommended VRAM is 8GB but I can't afford that anymore (that's so demanding!). So if you are aiming for Ultra, definitely get a laptop with higher specs than mine. Better yet, please research more and if you can, get a PC because it's more powerful and cheaper than a gaming laptop. For me though, I'm planning to mostly play in Sandbox mode and I think I can limit the visitors there to around 1k without worrying about zoo income/money for less lag :)))

@@DeLadysigner I haven't bought the pack yet, but here is my theory: Use it as lighting on the ceiling. The invisibility won't obscure your view when looking into a room.
Oh.. OH. I'm going to have to rebuild ALL of my zoos right now. So many pieces to play with! All the colors! Having them all in a lineup like that, it just keeps going and going and going. I'm SO excited to start playing with all of these bits.
I think the emmisive window means it has a yellow light at night like how the premade prop windows do, so you can make your own custom windows that glow like the other ones

I'm surprised there's no interspecies enrichment bonus for the meerkat and the warthog. Those 2 work really well together in zoos. (white rhino + warthog has been succesfully done as well). The meerkat and fennec fox being suited for walk-through enclosures is a little weird imo. Yes, they're small, but they're predators and have very sharp teeth. No real zoo would actually risk their visitors get bitten. Not the most realistic thing, but I get the decision from a game perspective. I love all four animals, they're all very well done. I'm grateful the meerkat is actually meerkat-sized. The ZT2 one was sized up way too much.
Honestly, I think this pack is lacking in props, and more specifically, clutter pieces. When they announced this pack, I was really hoping for some items that are inspired by African port towns and markets: more rug stacks, tires, wheels, new boats, old vehicles, more bag types, buckets, baskets, crates, barrels, old motorcycles, etc. Literally anything that would make an area feel more authentic.
Unfortunately I can't check, but I wonder if this pack helps raise awareness about rhino poaching? Perhaps it mentions something in the zoopedia, but its really a big issue that needs to be addressed. Rhinos are so near and dear to my heart, and they are rapidly being poached to extinction. Some rhinos in captivity even have armed guards to protect them! There are organisations that try their best to fight poaching, not just in Africa, but in Asia as well. The funds are stretched thin though. I'd be happy to share more on this of anyone's interested :)
uff the animations for the new animals are pretty laggy/buggy at this point... hope they will fix it. But i LOVE the new animals.. I love fennecs and this is the only reason for me to buy this pack :D
Looks to me like they were going to add the camel, scraped the idea but kept the signs anyway. Which is really a weird concept. They should add it for free later at this point, ahaha. But this pack is amazing! I'm really happy with everything.
18:27 that one is not recolorable, because its a copper statue and this green thing is patina or copper carbonate. It happends when copper is exposed to air or seawater :) You can see it on many old buildngs e.g Hogwarts from Harry Potter if you google it it will have green roofs :D
My Savanna, is complete with the White Rhinos and Meerkats. Meerkats digging mechanic is cool, maybe well see more of it later, like burrowing in an update, also interspecies relations with Common Warthogs. ;) The Penguins and Fennec Fox' are perfect. Scarab Beatle makes a fine addition to my collection. If I were suggesting 3 more animals, the Dromedary Camel, the Nile Crocodile and the Naked Mole Rat, would tie the room together.
The base game came with signs for african rhinos and deer and now at least we have the rhino but we still dont have a deer without mods, so hopefully there's a pack coming that will give us a dromedary and some kind of deer species
I'm not sure but I get the feeling that you can recolor most of the items. But maybe that's just me 🤷♂️😂😂 great video, nice to know what you actually get by buying this pack, thanks 😊

I guess that one way glass is for a more flexible approach then having to use the barrier one way window as well as the light. I guess it should work well in a terrarium or something if you want a one way glass that also lights up the interior of the exhibit?
What a fantastic pack! The artistry, from the animals to the scenery and the new plants is soooo good. The various ceramic tile pieces are just gorgeous, especially the way the light plays off of them. Very realistic. Excellent work by Frontier. Also a great job with the vocalization of the African Penguin (Jackass Penguin). So glad they included that.
Looking forward to creating my lion king zoo now. I don't have the pack yet, but soooo excited for it. The building pieces are going to be amazing in any desert zoo and will compliment the Indian pieces really well. I'm excited we have another penguin in the game, but can't help feeling its the odd one out in a predominantly desert/grassland pack. I think a baboon, or a bird like a crowned crane would have suited the pack better
Thanks for the overview Lady! I can totally see using those new columns as planters. And I'm glad they included those pointed stone pieces from the last path so you can make your own variation of the a fence (without the path pattern lol). I'm so glad they included so many colorable items. The Arbor pieces will make some good fences or garden areas. So many good pieces this round! I'm still hopeful they include a aviary animal pack like they did the South American one. Also those powered glass ones maybe were to make the habitat seem like there is no barrier (more open/natural) but really to the animal they see a barrier like one way glass? Kinda like a one-way null glass.
I thought that the meerkats would have interspecies enrichment with the warthog as sometimes warthogs will lay down so meerkats or other mongoose species can eat the ticks and other bugs off the warthog, the Africa pack in my opinion is one of the best packs yet though!
