● Jung Hwan & Deok Sun | If I lay here 

When I first watched reply 1988, I couldn’t settle for the fact that Jung Hwan wasn’t the husband. I thought “he liked her so much. She liked him too. They made the future husband sound a lot like Jung Hwan. So why not him!!!!????” I was so devastated. But after watching the series a couple of times more, I understood why my ship didn’t sail. Yeah. It’s true that Jung Hwan has liked Deok Sun since forever, but he didn’t have the courage to do anything about it like Taek did. Taek wasn’t afraid to admit that he likes her in front of the guys and he never hesitated to make a move on her unlike Jung Hwan. If Jung Hwan confessed his feelings about Deok Sun in front of the others before Taek did, then Taek would have taken a step back just like how Jung Hwan did after knowing Taek likes her too. Because that’s the kind of bond those two characters shared. Then maybe the things could have worked out between him and Deok Sun. But unfortunately, he was a step behind and a little too late. It really was all about timing. This drama taught us that.

I must say that i almost have watched evey single vedio about this couple but this the most emotional one so far

he should have at least not joked about his confession but he wasn't brave enough and knew that by then duk seon would have rejected him, he was too late. that's what makes it so sad for me, that no one will ever know how much he loved her.

Jung Hwan deserves to be loved too. The scriptwriter or the director should've showed that in the series. He should've found a new love and with that, he had learned his lesson to have courage and try to say what he really feels. So glad that Jun Yeol is different from Jung Hwan. Just look how Hyeri and him are going strong with their relationship in real life.

I am still on Episode 11 of this series but after the first scene where Jung hwan and deok sun were hiding between two walls, I instantly saw an explosive chemistry between them. So I started watching videos, and I ended up spoiling myself with the ending. I am not yet ready to shed tears when I get to the ending. Anyways, I love this couple so much

I stopped watching this drama at episode 6 when I searched in Google who the husband is ( I couldn't control myself) i literally started crying when I found out it is going to be Choi Taek....I shipped her with jung hwan from the start...I was so happy and screamed when sun woo didn't actually love her but I never expected Taek to be her husband...I can never continue this drama...coz I can't bear an another heartache...still not recovered from one I got from true beauty I was team seojun...I recently found this drama... Though IAM not gonna watch this drama completely...I can tell it is really a gem...but IAM emotionally too weak to watch Jung hwan get heart broken!

I will forever be shattered by this drama. And this scenes. 😭💔💔 The realization he had when it wasn’t up to fate/timing but through one’s own actions and simple decisions of not hesitating and taking risks for the one you love. The way Junghwan confessed was so sweet & sincere but heartbreaking at the same time. He even pretended it was just a prank in the end so it wouldn’t hinder with DeokSun and Taek’s relationship. He knew that he had to let her go because it’s already too late 💔 tell me how can i move on from this drama

They still did Junghwan dirty and I'll never forgive the writer for breaking my heart. The chemistry that Junghwan and Deoksun had, Taek would never have it with her. I really really liked Taek but he was just not meant to be with her. It's just my opinion. I'm just heartbroken rn. I am crying buckets of tears. How do I mend this shattered heart now?

This movie hit me to the core. the bond they all share with their friends and the positive relationship they had in their neighborhood.And, the secret crush they had on Deok sun, I feel pity for Jung hwan and feels he deserved more. My heart unease and sentimental for weeks after seeing this movie.

Its been 4 years since I've watched Reply 1988 and every year I kept rewatching it because I really love this drama. It was like, it became part of my life and I became one of their squad. It is just nostalgic. Up until now I'm still team Junghwan, and they were really perfect for each other but then that one moment happened. If 'fate' was friends with 'timing' that time they should end up to be together in the last episode. Just like what Junghwan said " Fate doesn't come to you at just anytime. At the very least, if you want to use the term fate it should happen often at the most dramatic moments brought by coincidence. That's what makes it fate. That's why another term for fate is timing. In the end, fate and timing do not just happen out of coincidence. " and this edit summarized it all. I'm years late for this since I just started Reply 1988 recently (I'm still on Ep8 so far) and knowing that Jung Hwan isn't the husband, my heart hurts. And this video isn't helping me drying my tears because this video is one of the best and the most emotional Deok Sun x Jung Hwan I've watched! 😭 If the alternate universe is true, I hope Jung Hwan has the "Deok Sun" whom he loves very much and who will give him back all the love that he deserves.

My sweet lips was heart broken and I can't get over this. I would have caught on to his love from that bus scene. I wish she was as aggressive in reciprocating how she felt to him the way they both bullied each other. It would have allowed him to know he could have made that step. Both were afraid to confess it. They were so accustomed to bullying each other.

He was always mean and sarcastic when he spoke to her. She really had the feeling that he didn't care for her. All the little things he did for her he did behind her back so she never knew he did any of those things. I felt bad when he finally confessed but I was happy taek won in the end.

The writer did us dirty and did Jung-hwan dirty. He deserved all the the happiness in the world, but NOPE. I watched this 3 times now -and yes I know that Taek had more courage than Jung-hwan bla bla bla-, but I still can't forgive the writer for this heartbreak. Thank god they are a couple irl.

This is the most heartbreaking of all Reply series. I'm still not over it but I refuse to watch it again cause it pains my heart. He was a bit late for everything so I accept the defeat... but still it hurts. The term "the one that got away" is perfect for him. The only comfort I have is the fact that they got together in real life. (Still, my heart aches for Junghwan)

I am so not ready for tomorrow. Junghwan owns my heart and I don't think I will be able to take anymore heartbreak. The last episode was just too much. I'm really pessimistic about the outcome of the husband-guessing-game (although I don't dislike Taek) but this drama is so wonderful, I am ready to forgive almost anything (unlike Reply 1994...still a bit bitter about that) Ramblings aside, I am so glad more people are vidding this drama and especially this ship.
