Bankbuster would be my cut for it, personally. Card is excellent obviously, but it doesn't actually work very well with what the deck wants to do. Being able to add more counters is cute against mega grindy control decks but half the time you don't want the counters, and drawing it on your ult turn is pretty bad - you're usually low on mana then so you can't even cantrip it.
When I cracked packs and saw Tamiyo and her ult I immediately made a HB deck around her with the same mindset, proliferate and great payoff cards. I failed however to include Jin's Taxes, so naturally not only is my deck inferior, I have failed the dojo (it's actually kinda fun ngl, she does have a great ult, great video!)
I made a Tamiyo deck myself and was curious to see your version. I figured out the early mana acceleration and proliferate too. As a matter of fact 70% of the deck is similar. I added toxic / poison cards like Bloated contaminator , Myr convert , prologue to phyresis and some juicy others Having the toxic Win conditon really makes this deck step up in my opinion
That gyox deck looks SUPER interesting, with every oil you create on the field accelerating the growth. If you can keep enough card draw... or maybe birthing pool effects? Eventually you're probably just churning out giants. Not aggressive, but it sounds very fun when it works
I made a deck with her with the plan being to proliferate her to ultimate on the turn she comes down but was annoyed when I realized how few good proliferate cards there were on Arena. I got it to do the thing a couple times but it wasn't working out, maybe I'll swipe this list and see if it can hang better.
There is a version of this deck that keeps beating me up. It's playing like a control deck with all the board wipes instead of the mana dorks (Wrath, Shatter, Day of Judgment, Doomskarr, Supreme Verdict, Farewell...) and some infamous planeswalkers like T3feri. Couldn't beat the deck even once so far.
at 9:51 when you cast the into the north, why didn't you play the land before so you could pay a spell-pierce tax? I see that you were planning on using the Experimental augury on their turn, but wouldn't getting an extra land onto the battlefied pulling you ahead by one land (while being on the draw no less!) be a better long term plan than just looking at the top three and not proliferating anything on opponents turn?
I mean was it because you wanted to get a counterspell out of their hand? tough call, get an extra land ahead or get a counterspell out of their hand, both are good things to do for the long term. You may have another opportunity to get rid of the counterpell on another turn though, while you won't be able to ramp with that card ever again.
The snakes have passed, this calamitous event has been prevented by a shield made of thoughts and prayers. I hope my shell can continue to remain unbroken. Day 6 of asking CGB for a shrines deck video.
As a strictly alchemy player, I have no fucking idea what Gyox gameplan is supposed to be. I guess after 60 turns you get to draw a 3 mana 5/7 or something.
@@MirrorAshes They are broken, unplayable and pushed for some stupid reason by Wizards. I don't know who's idea it was to introduce things like power 9 in to decks, and other dumb shit, like creating cards out of nowhere. Not only dumb but pointless. Reason why rarely play arena, that alchemy shit is just wrong.
