4:40 It’s because you used Max Starfall, creating the Misty Terrain, protecting all Pokémon from status conditions, so this guy actually screwed himself over
Hunter Kolodziej when I was a nine year old kid I didn't know much about those details either and didn't really care. I doubt the person pimpnite was against was very into the strategies of the game, and probably a little Kid.
@@victoriapschen yeah 90% of his vids look like they’re against kids who haven’t played the game for as long as he has so they don’t know what to do. I know if I was battling against him and I was losing with my shiny legendaries to a Lv. 1 bonsly I’d DC too. He keeps calling these guys “hackers” and “toxic” when he doesn’t even know who they are/ how old they are.
@@GreenPorridge19 Yeah, but the kid could still use a setup move and buff his pokémon enough to one-shot wobby, even if he'd lose at first with focus sash. The lesson ends up being: always set stealth rock.
@@Twillight1234 It actually would have been. Toxic does damage that Wobuffet's moves could not have thrown back because the status, not the attack does the damage. Will O' Wisp and curse (ghost) would have been great as well, but curse and toxic obviously being better than Will O' Wisp against this pokemon. Sure, destiny bond could be used last minute by the wobuffet user but you could always plan to switch in a sac if needed.
@@Twillight1234 It would have trivialised the fight. Any kind of Damage status would do the trick since it's damage that can't be countered and when you break the sash it'll finish the job. Apply toxic, stall until Wobbuffet is either in KO range or switches even if it means spamming useless toxics.
@@king_bruv1694 I'm not defending him but, to be fair, that's a mistake I'm sure a lot of people will make. I know I would. Misty terrain is barely used and electric terrain is known for preventing sleep.
@@infinitethunder6184 I think it is more known to people that misty terrain prevents status conditions. Otherwise it doesn't make sense the terrain just there without any advantage. But I hardly remember it reduces the power of Dragon type moves, the secondary effect
@@GreenPorridge19 I know about it's effects, but I knew hydreigon would be a problem but when pimp brought a hatterene i understood why because it can learn magic powder, so mirror coat can hit
So we're either forced to give that kid too much credit if he knew about Magic Powder (but not Misty Terrain, lol), or no credit at all if he didn't even know that Dark was immune to Psychic (or that Mirror Coat was a Psychic move, one or the other).
To be honest, with how telegraphed the other player's movesets were, one can suspect they had never even seen a Wobbuffet before. Even with the Healing Wish support, a staller or two can easily overwhelm a wobbuffet.
@@Drakorre You're right. Or a Rock Polish Tyranitar, a Hail setup, Tricking a choice item. Anything that can stall for more than two turns can wipe it out. Even Stealth Rock could have wiped the Wobbuffet sweep strategy.
One other way is to encore wobbofet It will keep spamming counter or mirror coat Then attack wobbofet with a move it can’t counter. (Like special attack while it encored counter) Or better yet, physical ghost. Counter cannot hit ghosts if it hit wobbofet with a physical. Same train of logic with special attacking dark types. Counter and mirror coat are fighting and psychic moves after all, and people tend to forget this fact considering counter and mirror coat can destroy most pokemon, except one type. Edit: so, special attacker dark type may not work. He had hatterene...
It’s really funny how they got mad at the sweep when it was really easy to predict what they were gonna do since they kept using the same attacks in a row.
the grimsnarl play was the stupidest thing i've ever seen. why the hell didn't he just just max snooze first? it could've potentially one shot and if it didn't then the sleep would still work. setting misty terrain was what really screwed him over.
Typing wise, there was no reason to use Starfall over Snooze. His entire team was neutral to dark at worst and nobody was weak to fairy...in fact, he had a resist to fairy.
@@marcodestefano7119 How? Without that crit jeff would not even be close to 1 hp and getting a slightly lucky damage roll is a higher chance than a crit.
@@idiotic_goon If you were alone (offline) w/ 3 NPCs, you'd have a 100% chance of catching it regardless of the ball, which is how you see things like Beast Balls for such mons. But if you were w/ friends online, it's not a 100% catch rate, so a Master Ball is the safest option then. Plz say you were online w/ friends. =|
You know with these videos, where you pretend to be a noob? I was just remembering this one line from the Sonic movie: "Confidence, a fool's substitute for intelligence." Eggman sure got that one right...
“Mirror Coat and Counter is cheating” ah yes, moves that do more damage when you use a specific move against them where you have to predict is cheating thank you Cold Warrior very cool
I somehow didn't see it coming until about 10 seconds after the Belly Drum. Then I felt like an idiot, for sure, but it was worth it for that brief moment of, "oh, man, how is he going to get out of this one?" excitement.
Ah man xD that was a dope ass Wobbuffet sweep! Their direct attack strategy was so predictable, no wonder you could sweep ‘em under the rug with a Wobbuffet.
@@diwakarrana1975 Well yeah but the only reason he got to 1hp was he scored a critical on the first hit. So the fact that Pimp was in a risky position was purely due to luck on the kids part.
Oh no... I just thought of something beautiful... Lv: 1 Ability: sturdy Moves: Endeavor Leech seed Trick room Move before: poison spikes Im crying with tears of joyful salt!
When I saw they set up a belly drum on Zen Mode Darmanitan I just thought: “Well that’s a wrap.” Then focus sash. Dies. Sidenote: Who tf puts a life orb on zen-darm? That mon already has far beyond enough firepower and the life orb damage just decreases the sweep potential.
@@diwakarrana1975 I've fought someone recently who had a special Machamp. I didn't get to see their full moveset, but they had the No Guard ability and used Fire Blast
