Honestly, you shouldn't be ashamed of drawing shipping art, they're beautiful, and if they made you feel happy creating them, isn't that what art really is. It's sad, because it's true that some people look down upon fanarts, especially ship art, but I personally think art is subjective, and as long as the subject matter is important to the artist, then it's art regardless. I myself was ashamed of drawing fanart for the longest time, even though that's like my favourite thing to draw, but I'm glad I learned how to embrace drawing them without the shame of it all. Us humans look for inspiration from other forms of art, we like things and become fans of said things, and those things inspired us to make art, and that's just a human thing to do. Oh and also, we seem to like the same things too. I love me some Stucky, Kurtis Conner and Bubbline too! Love ur art style.

I had to pause that on "Steve's just a white guy" and oh my, I feel this in my bones XD Not that I'd draw Stucky - but it's literally the same thing with Jack Morrison from Overwatch. Every sketch be like: oh look, generic white guy Mr. America himself *shrugs* This just made me laugh so hard. I randomly stumbled upon this vid and I don't regret it - it's sad to hear another artist say things like "it's just doodles and I felt wasting the paper" because from a fresh perspective these are little doodled treasures, little glimpses of what occupied the artists mind at that time and they're adorable! I really enjoyed this tour and I'll be leaving a subscription: keep it up, your style is great

Is it bad if I feel comforted by your struggles because I felt the same way with my mossery sketch book. It's so good and nice but I felt that I either had to make full illustrations or crappy doodles and I couldn't keep up! I hope the next sketchbook and you both have good vibes!

Your illustrations are g r e a t ! Wish i could do that well. You're underselling yourself. Maybe it's a good thing you don't ''know'' you're a good artist. I dunno. I have very few but loyal fans and i feel like people are lying to me when they say your art is very 'you'. Like, that comes off as a nice way of saying ''you're weird, and so is your jenky 'art'. That's how it translates. I've had my Mosserry book i gifted myself for Christmas 3 years ago and haven't put a mark in it. I WAS going to use it THIS year [2 0 2 0] but the year got started rocky with the death of my Dad and i was too depressed to start it . then covid, then my job.... so i was like "F" it. I don't want anything to remember this year by, so, I continue to be precious with my Mossery book. Instead i bought an ILLO and now have gotten used to drawing BIGGER instead of the A4 size paper i was used to. I can't go back to smaller. So I can relate. Keep on doing art and making nice illustrations! Best of luck and success. Be as "L" as you wanna be, I'm not bothered.

Ohhhh, I LOVE St. Augustine! So pretty, so much history, and less crowded than other coastal towns. Went a couple of times as a kid and now my family goes.

Your sketchbook is wonderful as per usual. And the great thing about this sketchbook is that you had an opportunity to learn that smaller spiral bround is not your jam. Now you can go back to do your larger spreads :-) But seriously, you did an amazing job.

After switching from an illo square sketchbook I feel totally lost in my canson spiral bound. 😱☠️ I think this sketchbook looks amazing, thank you for sharing, even if you didn’t enjoy it. It’s good to try different sized sketchbooks so you learn how to work with the space. Get creative with backgrounds and cropping, or even using color and shapes to frame your drawing. Get out of your comfort zone to push yourself. Your sketchbook looked great.

I don’t think it was wasting a sketchbook! If you didn’t bite the bullet and use it you would never have and it would be wasteful clutter until you ended up getting rid of it

I’ve found that when I’m using mossery sketchbooks, that it can really help to split the page in half (like horizontal). Also, for whatever reason, I will do portraits on the same spread so they will sort of face eachother.

You are way too harsh on your art, and the sketchbook is really good.

I know negativity is the death of creativity and all but I appreciate your honesty about how you felt. It's usually obvious when someone hates their art but lies about liking it to seem happy and positive but I don't really like that. I like to make jokes about how shitty my art is, because then at least I'm laughing while Im upset, instead of just being awkward and uncomfortable, which is sort of how you seemed while making this video. Though I know negative jokes can also be bad, so idk, I just think there funny and may make the whole process of making videos about art you're not proud of easier
