I don't mean to ruin anyone's enjoyment of the video or the mood or anything, but I regret to announce that Lil B (the HUcast in my party in this video), AKA Ealonzo, AKA Ernie Alonzo, has passed away last year on November 12th, 2017. I also regret not updating this video in some way with this information sooner. While I wasn't close friends with Lil B-- more of a friendly acquaintance-- I would be remiss to not say anything. He was a funny, well-known personality on Ephinea, an exceptionally competent and skilled player (Dark Flow deaths be damned), and I'm glad to have shared this recording of this moment together. I hereby dedicate this video to his memory and give my sincere condolences to his friends and family.
I started Ephinea last week, PSO was always a game i played with my 2 brothers in my childhood, ill always be thankful for having older bros who were into cool stuff like this. Like you i never got a max level character, and tons of rare items i never got to cross off my wishlist haha. So happy to see the game still has a active playerbase Sorry to hear about your friend, RIP Lil B.
To this day PSO has been a staple at which I judge other online mmo’s. Seeing that red drop always brought a smile to my eyes! I sunk in just over 1100 hours and never played it online haha. Imagine how few of people would have the achievement/trophie of getting to level 200 if this game came out nowadays! Congradulations
I never once played it online ether. My brother and I played the hell out of split screen on GC though. Some of the best gaming memories I’ll ever have. That’s over 15 years ago

I played this on the dreamcast originally, but the gamecube port is where I lost my life lol. Got up to level 125 with a friend of mine. Countless weekends spent grinding. Dang, I miss it.
Private servers are always up in case you are willing to try. I never got to play online when the official servers were still up, but from what I understand private servers are run better then when Sega had the reins.
Love this game so much. Even though I owned a Dreamcast but I never have chance to play this game online as Imy parents refuse for let me use thier credit card (I was 10 at the time) and the game itself is not available in my country. However, about 10 years ago I've a chance to go online thanks to Shthack server for a while. Were you guys been there? The avatar names are a bit familar. Maybe I'm mad but I'm pretty certain, I played with "pearl" before. I wish some genius would expand the content with new area, monsters, boss or a custom quest.
I, like many others, are refugees from on Schthack. Bee was in fact my main there too, but I quit playing there completely after their server died (with no backups might I add) and everyone lost everything. I was on a team called Assistance (which incidentally also moved to Ephinea and it has a bee as its logo). So I moved to Ephinea after deciding it had the most features I like. It also helped a lot of good people I knew from Scht moved to Ephinea. As to your last sentence, there's tons of custom quests. Check out this list of custom quests on Ephinea: www.pioneer2.net/community/threads/ephinea-information-thread.964/ However, new areas, monsters, and especially bosses might be out of the question. Furthermore Ephinea would never allow such things like that on principle even if it was possible, since it's aims to be true to PSO albeit with quality of life updates.
Thanks! Sato is my favorite mag. Alas Ephinea doesn't have the Twin Sato from Schthack or Destiny or I would use it too. I actually turned all of my mags on my main PSO2 character into Satos as well. Back when Sato's mag evolution device cost 20 mil AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Also I made a Tellusis on PSO since it is statistically superior to Sato but I went back to Sato. It just matches Bee too well.
Yeah, Tellusis is not exactly cute is it. XD I just made a FOnewearl named "Nitez" because I realized that's pinkal, and now I'm wondering if Ephinea has the Nightopian mag cell. That would be fun to aim for.
Sadly Ephinea is too vanilla for that. It's doubtful when, if ever they will introduce custom mags. On top of that if they do, I recently discovered there's a limit to the amount of custom mags you can even put in the game. According to Magic (the lead dev/admin of Destiny PSOBB) there's only 5 empty slots for custom mags due to limitations with the engine and they already used theirs up when their server launched. AFAIK no server has been able to figure out how to reverse engineer the game to mod it to add more. Is the Nightopian mag cell from Ultima? I know Destiny has a Nights one but I don't think it has that name. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Herr Schrodinger I meant the Pian actually, which is from original DC PSO. It's a Nightopian from NiGHTS Into Dreams, and comes from the Heart of Pian mag cell. It looks like a holiday event is the only way to get it, but I assume someone has one lying around somewhere... That is interesting about the limited spots for custom mags, though. I wasn't aware Ephinea had custom mags or weapons at all!
You mean the hotbar? When your in the menu for your action palette and you can select different things, you hit a number key to assign that action to that key. (Also sorry for the delay in response.
Maybe this is usefull for somebody. If you play with a controller and use the application called xpadder, you can bind the hotkeys to your controller by using the shoulder keys. This let's you bind all hotkeys to your controller for easy access without using the in game menu.
TTF is cool but I don't really like how most blue burst servers are based on people wanting to run TTF. I know that some people don't but most people do and it just seems like a huge rush to me for some reason.
It's kind of a necessary evil to me. It's the closest PSO has to a boss rush which is inherently cool, it has some of the best exp rates in the game, it has tons of shortcuts to make it faster, and it's the fastest quest to get to ep1 bosses. The last part is especially crucial, and *especially* especially when it comes to farming Falz, since there's NO other fast way to get to him. And when you're hunting uber rare items like Red Ring that are de facto the best in their category, you want to be able to get to and kill the monster that drops it as efficiently as possible. There's certainly other options that are way more efficient for getting xp or hunting certain items/monsters, but TTF does enough so well it will probably always be the most popular PSO quest. I doubt this will ever change unless there's fast alternatives to get to each ep1 boss, and a quest that isn't too difficult with enough variety and good exp to compete on that front too. Hell, Schthack removed drops entirely from TTF for a long time and people STILL spammed the SHIT out of it just because it's great exp, and it isn't suicide-inducingly monotonous as running the first room of ep4 MA S over and over.
Well, take care Codeeza, bosses in EP1 weren't a true challenge for the game, PLUS you could always much harder content like Realms of War when true players must do teamwork a lot of beacuase one death means kicking the player from the quest. Ofc, TTF is by far the most popular quest because the bosses & how are ridiculously beaten easily. However, if you have played many years to that game, you should know that other content are made for people who wanted a challenge. A good example is Mop-Ups from EP4. Those Mop-ups, in ultimate, must be required by a party of 4 players who know well the game because a mistake can be the meaning of failing that quest... and those quests are required for certain gear like the Two-Kamui. In other cases, people generally don't care of TTF when they reach lvl 150+ since that thing means all players having good gear for dealing high-end content... Greetings.
i agree but no mmo is without a flaw i still enjoy psobb over most rpgs iv ever played (which are a ton) and ep[hinea does have a decent amount of people running other stuff thanks to boost road and what not theyve made great additions to the game

@@wargames-mb2gu Not really, I'm afraid. I'm waiting for the Elsewhere server to drop. Ephinea is still a very solid server under the hood but between other games I want to play more and the fact the administration fucked up on a phenomenally bad level recently, I don't play there anymore. For the uninformed, they banned a ton of people for ostensibly no reason from the forums, Discord, and in game. Including NDW, who is unironically perhaps one of the biggest pillars of the community who is not only a friend of mine but has helped countless people in PSO ever since like Schthack came out after PSU died. There's no warnings, no reason, no appeals, no public accountability, and nobody is even allowed to talk about this in any official capacity on their forums/Discord. Mew, Tofu, and Sophie were like the only staff members who weren't involved in this debacle. Fortunately NDW's guides and posts are still available for players to view or else we'd be really fucked. I actually started playing PSOBB private servers on Schthack. I took a break from it for PSO2JP, and when I tried coming back to Scht, their server had crashed and lost everyone's data. After that I swore off Scht and migrated to Ephinea.
