there are many fan speculations as to what kind of illness/disease rose has. However, the show makes it clear that it is something she has learned to live with and is fully capable of going on with her life despite it coming back from time to time. This realization about her gives insight towards why she admires prince Ali so much as he helps raise money for childrens hospitals and why rose is seen doing what she can to contribute to help raise funds for the hospitals, those hospitals could very well be the same hospitals rose has spent much of her life in.
This could arguably be one of the weaker episodes of this season in terms of its script, but it gave Rose a much-needed chance to shine and to become the newest holder of a Miraculous. What is Rose's condition? The creators probably didn't want to name it for fear of causing distress, mindful that - as dark as it is tending to be these days - this show is still targeted at young audiences. Given the symptoms (including a debilitating headache), the factors mentioned by Juleka (Rose had it as a little girl, it went away but it could recur, and she needs hospital treatment when the symptoms become explicit) and Rose's pink colour scheme, often associated with cancer charities, it could be that she has done, or is doing, battle with cancer. Those who have fought it in real life will know just how it turns life upside down; from the moment of diagnosis, life for the sufferer (and for all who know and love them) becomes geared to one thing only: survival. It's hard to be positive, knowing that survival cannot be guaranteed and may come at great cost, but a positive mental attitude can do more good than is often realised, and Rose maintains such an attitude in everything she thinks, says and does, so there perhaps is the true power of this episode's deceptively simple message. It's brought home by Pigella's power, in this case showing Juleka that what her heart desires is Rose's happiness, by which Rose stays well and doesn't sicken so easily. On that note, what do we make of Julerose? Again, there's a suggestion that the creators are dancing around this coupling. There have been plenty of hints that they are in a romantic relationship, but Rose has fawned after Prince Ali (back in season 1) and this episode could be said to tone the romanticism down still further, hinting that Juleka is not so much Rose's lover as she is her shield and protector, the only friend who knows about her life-threatening condition, who is therefore always looking out for her. It seems as if the creators are fighting shy of being too obvious about homosexuality, between these two (or between Marc and Nathaniel for that matter) yet they aren't flatly denying it either. Miraculous has something in common with Star Trek here: it's as if the inhabitants of its universe don't care about race, creed, sexuality or other such things, and in so doing, they admonish those of us inhabiting the real world: we too should not care about such things, neither taking offence nor being overly fanatical about them. Rather, we should embrace each other, accepting each other for what we are, respecting the fact that we aren't all 'wired' in the same way and being comfortable with that fact. Rose and Juleka might have what some call an open relationship, with romantic involvement between them yet understanding between them that they may pursue other relationships. It could also be that their love language is particular to them, and doesn't share all the traits of other couples' behaviour yet goes beyond the gestures and physical contact of "just friends." Whatever the case may be, they are a remarkably endearing pair, complementing each other perfectly.
Here's the Miraculous scoreboard as of this episode: Permanent M-holders in Mme. Bustier's class: Adrien, Alya (secret), and Marinette Occasional M-holder's in Bustier's class: Kim, Max, Mylene, Nino, and Rose M-holders _not_ in Mme. Bustier's class: Kagami, Luka, and Zoe Future M-holder: Alix Former M-holder: Chloe Fake M-holder: Lila Still in the dugout: Ivan, Juleka, Nathaniel, and Sabrina
Based on Rose’s symptoms and her history that she said, the best educated guess is that she suffers from migraines. I’ve known people in the past that suffered from them and their symptoms were very similar
this is easily the darkest ep so far, for a whole host of reasons, but i’ll talk about those once the vid actually premieres. and i gotta say, it is kinda a shame that you didn’t get to watch this and “Crocoduel” together, but i’ll explain why when THAT one premieres.
@@Luna-TK What a pity. However, I suggest you to react to the episodes Optigamy, Sentibubbler and Rocketear in that order, to follow the chronology. The order of the rest of the episodes is less important, I think.
