I love this! And I also do only use things I find (with exception of things in my kitchen, these I use also), but I never thought about it, it just felt more like "a gift meant for me to find now" and therefore more meaningful and special, because it's "accidentially" ( I never go searching for them), and when that happens, back home, I will see what I have that I found a year ago, and let it go (bring it back to nature) on the next walk. I also think, for divination, we have so many tools that work well enough, that personally I think I do not need bones. For magic, in my personal opinion bones (and most ohter things) are "decorative" and the same magic can be done with or without them. I need my breath, my mind, my body, and 1 minute or more without being interrupted. This is obviously a thing of "belief". ( Lennan Smith has made a cool video about the necessity/ non necessity of tools in witchcraft lately, which I recommend in that context). That said, it is totally allowed to have a different opinion, and to go your own path, using the tools that best assist you.

Soooo true!!! We do not really need "paraphernalia"... Because it is all based in spirit! I love your take on things! I , too, return my finds when I feel that they "want to return"...so to speak. I think it's a nice thing to appreciate discarded remnants of nature because as the world is in such turmoil, it is good to appreciate Mother Nature's artistry...but very important to return it! To be honest, these things are so ephemeral anyway...a shed mourning Dove feather I collected from our local flock, is actually breaking down, and so it needs returning. I think this is also a reminder for us not to hold too tightly to anything...that you treasure what you learn and experience..but the things themselves are transitory. I love to return the things I find also. It feels like we only borrow...we are not being possessive... Giving something a place of honor in our hearts and sights...but allowing it to go back home after a visit is a happy thing. I know what you mean about the "uninterrupted moment" those are rare and magical enough! 😊 I will definitely check out Lennan Smith's video. Need vs want is always a struggle for humans I think? I agree....each person has a very distinct path and intuition should tell you what will work and what won't ....what comes and what goes. As long as we are thoughtful and gentle with the Earth, reciprocal in nurturing... It should be a love affair that lasts for eternity. So nice to see the respectful and kind community here!!! ❤❤❤

I understand what you mean & I had the same thought, being a vegetarian/vegan, the bones have been a questionable practice. One that I haven't committed to yet. I do use things from nature that I stumble upon & I think I'll hold to that practice & bury the bones to put them to peace, you might say. Thanks again for your insight.
