Ok i know im three years late, but here goes nothing. I'm getting my first back brace in a couple of weeks, and I have been wondering for so long if I will ever be able to wear this or that, do this or that, etc. This video really helped me out! Thank you! Also I love your room!
I always used a thin shirt under my brace because my doctor said so (I had my back brace for a more than a year 22/24 and changed 3) and I use a cream for my skin bc I also have cifosis so the metallic stuff pushes and irritates my skin

Am getting a back brace in 3weeks I have a 30 degree and the dr said if am in 40 degree I need surgery and I have to wear it for 20 hours and I get 4hours of break from using the back brace
I’m getting my back brace in a little bit and I’m terrified. I have to wear it 22 hours a day, including PE in school I have 1 hour left to not have it on. Wish me luck your video helped calm some of my nerves

I'm so sorry to hear that! Maybe explain to your parents the importance of early screening in scoliosis, the early your diagnosed, the better chance of avoiding intense treatments (such as surgery for example). Maybe you can get checked out at school?
@@MyBackBrace it’s really uncomfortable and hard to move around I’m really nervous about what people will think about when I go to school and clothing is a big challenge!

If you feel you might have scoliosis (uneven back, kyphosis, back pain...) go to a doctor and they will most likely order an X-ray. If the doctor feels you might need a brace, then they'll most likely send you to another doctor that fits you into one. Hope this helped!
Hey Sarah! Sorry that you only get to take it off for 2 hours :( Everyone is different and i knew people that had to wear it 24 hours even! Stay strong and positive!!
@@backbrace7855 That's amazing! We got to spread scoliosis awareness! I'd suggest a chapter regarding stereotypes and misconceptions of scoliosis and back braces (actually made a video about that no too long ago). You can then correct those misconceptions :)
