Not everybody who goes is a vandal, these guys are there equally as illegally as everyone else, they are no better than most but atleast no real damage is caused by them.
It is because when stalkers go they will think the camera has already been taken because its not there but in reality they have put it in a different location after the video.
Honestly, this town is a gold mine of history. To see if it'd be fully repaired for a "Living History Museum" would be amazing. It'd be a cool tourist place too when it's truly safe of no radiation.
this is just stunning what you guys are putting up. it's so nice to see you breathing new life into this place, makes me very happy to see. your apartment turned out so great with the simple things you have. just awesome :)
That sign is going to need alot more LED strips I think! Buy hey awesome job! Regarding the cameras, its probably best to keep their position private and not show the placement on the videos, that way, the vandals wont know about them if they watch your channel :)
Seeing you do good impact on Pripyat is my favorite kind of video : ] Really love it! So they used to care about the city until 1994 interesting... I wonder why they stopped. It would be so cool if they never stopped. Imagine perfectly preserved buildings and flats. Holy moly would that be interesting experience. Real town becoming ghost town. Spooky.
I wonder if later we could see the live cameras stream, I never been in pripyat and would be amazing to see! Thanks a lot guys for your work! :3 You guys are amazing!
A single spotlight wont simulate neon tube signs.. this looks more realistic like i guess it was.. and unrealistic modern at the same time, love it :) When the guards see this i bet they for a brief second think they are tripping like on psychedelics thinking it is too much radiation today or something and wont believe their eyes, imagine the first ones who sees it :)
Those buildings look shaky and are certainly of low build quality but the are actually quite strong and can last for another 100 years. Why ? They're made of prefabricated steel concrete sheets which carry the load of the whole structure in a distributed manner. As long as the concrete does not disintegrate completely leaving the steel amory open to corrode and decay the structure last. Even if some sheets go bad - the building will not collapse. That is different from traditional structures with steel or even wooden beams.
Risky health wise but I like to explore too :) Just a tip. Don't use PVC insulating tape especially outside it's crap and just falls apart super quick. If you look into using "self amalgamating tape" it's sooo much better. You stretch it as you apply it and it starts a reaction so that it fuses permanently to itself. Lasts for ages and is very strong. It will also waterproof things such as electrics.
I love how excited Alex is at the beginning talking about the USSR sign and fixing it . To put a circuit inside the arduniou to simulate a neon light is just bloody awesome.
The thing about wildlife cameras is they instantly light up like IR flares the moment they see a person or animal. Running counter-surveillance against them is as easy as using your smartphone in video mode to monitor the area and see the glow. I hope you blacked out the emitters! The ones I see here have the dark-lens LEDs which suggests 880nm or 920nm, definitely visible to a smartphone but shouldn't be visible to the naked eye. (As long as the vandals aren't aware or looking for the cameras, they probably will never know they are there.) I've also found it's possible to see the light from certain models of wildlife cams that use clear LEDs emitting mixed IR and visible light at a peak of 720nm. If you own one of those, you can easily see it at night as it will glow red. Do a few test runs and you'll see what I mean.
4:30 that would be some sort of deer or elk, i think also a moose can make the same sort of sound? but im unsure and no expert, but i would say myself, that is a cow elk (female) scream, you can hear how big its chest cavity is when the sound (animal call) comes to an end from 4:32 to 4:33 , it has this very unique sound, kinda like someone blowing down a big pipe, really cool to hear this.
Have you guys every thought about using a UV fluorescent coating or paint with a few cheap rechargeable UV flashlights to illuminate stuff ? It should be fairy easy to add a small solar charger with a photocell in place of the switch’s on the lights you should get a lot of light coverage out of minimal effort.
Great idea...they could mark trees and have a trail to follow at night...or even small reflectors mounted higher up the trees...use an IR flash light for illumination and your phone to see the reflectors at night without worrying about exposing your position as only the cam can see the IR light...well some cams that don't have filters which can be tested with any remote controllers for tv's ect...
more and more videos i see of you guys , so much more i interestetd to being one time there ... you make a great job to make the world a lil bit better in places that nobody think about it ... great.... i like your channel more and more ... top
I love how you guys decorated the flat but how the hell did you guys get all the furniture past security, thru the woods and up the stairs??? I'm totally enjoying your videos!!!
Yesss new kreosan wideo. We love u guys. Science bros. I apriciate the time and effort you make to edit the videos.. Fellow fan from the states.. Haveing a shot
The second mushroom is Amanita rubescens. The first one is a bolete, it looks like a small Boletus edulis, but it's difficult to be 100% sure of the exact mushroom ID from this video. You'd need to show good clear still images of all angles/details for proper identification. And of course, don't eat any mushrooms from there because of the radioactivity, fungi are known for absorbing radioactivity and other contaminants.
I wonder what others will think about the sign on the building? Like oh wow its on. Or they get mad like no it is not coming back. So many ?s about this place. Love it
I thought somebody was moving furniture around. It was Dima snoring. You should make him sleep two floors below. The security would hear him from down the street.
I love how they actually call themselves S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, because they know. Hopefully one day the tower can be powered up again in some nice and green way.
Trail cameras can be easily spotted at night-time with your cell phone.. Open your camera app and watch the screen while you search for trail cameras... The infra-red light can be seen on your cell
Wy not run the 220. V from your old flat to. The sign and try to get the. High voltage transforners working on the sign. The neon bulbs looked in ok shape ther is aa chans it would work. Next. Run the power to the street lights they are all conected toghetter so it would light up all streets.
Hmmm.... Maybe you can place some cams on road to nuclear power plant, or on road to town. You are brave men, keep it up, and if you can, make radio station for this lost town.
