About this place
Cozy tiny house with floor to ceiling windows, gas stove, separate bedroom and bathroom. Plan a day trip galore then decompress by a fire pit or gaze across a river with the sounds of nature. Boat trip on Lake James, hike Linville Gorge, Tom's Creek Falls, Hiking Trails or build a campfire and make some s'mores. European Steam Sauna and North Fork River access to kayak or paddleboard May - Aug. Sauna Heater was replaced Dec 31, 2023 and is working well.
Place
This home is very comfortable and modern with a cabin feel. It has a gas stove. Separate bedroom with a nice queen mattress. TV with dvd player and a number of classics the owner loves, no cable. Heated and cooled by Mitsubishi's new split system. A sofa that folds into a bed and a tiny sleeping loft that has a firm full-sized mattress. Tinyhouse is set up with self check in. Recommended for two adults on a bed and children on a new leather futon sofabed. The loft bed is very very small (complete) and very tight. Slept there once with a 6'2 friend and we had to turn our sides over and our faces were an inch from the ceiling. Please contact us if you would like more bedding beyond the main queen bed for your stay
This is one of 3 tiny houses at Lake James Tiny Houses GlampCamp. This is a small camp with a lot of heart put into it and the small houses curve around the river with a private outdoor space for each. Access to shared facilities including a European steam sauna, large fire pit, kayaks, paddle boards and river access. This river connects directly to Lake James.
If you want total privacy and the property to yourself, then we recommend booking the entire property. Great fun to do with friends or siblings together, just check out the listing which includes all three tiny houses (sorry, Airbnb doesn't allow links here).
Starlink is currently testing and some mobile services may be limited.
The pet fee is per dog. No cats, sorry.
Guest access
You can enjoy the entire property including a shared fire pit, sauna, steps to the river, kayaks, paddle boards and a tiny house.
Another thing to pay attention to
Two public boat docks within five miles.
The house is supplied by well water; if there are no guests for a few days or you are gone all day then come back, you may have to run the water for a few minutes to get it clean. Bring drinking water if well water isn't your thing (not my thing being an urban dweller used to city water). Please bring your own firewood with you or collect it. Bring your own charcoal for the grill.
There is a train sometimes 4 miles away.
We do our best to ensure everything is functioning properly by performing regular checks and proper maintenance.
