Hi Jules:) cone 06 is is low fire clay. Cone 6 is mid range. We bisque fire at cone 04, some people go to cone 06 for bisque. In case you didn't know, 06 and 6 are totally different:) When I first started learning about clay from my husband, my brain was in knots 😅 it's been 3 years so you probably have learned this by now:)

Hello Friend. I would like to know how I can make a clay tagine for induction cooker. It should have a ferro - magnetic base of sweet iron or stainless steel. I appreciate your kind response. If possible, make a video of that work. Thanks from Ecuador

Dear Pensamientos, The process of bonding clay & metal is a process that requires metal forging & casting ability at extremely high temperatures not practical In a humble art studio such as mine. I have seen a variety of ceramic coated pots with metal bottoms for sale online offered by large commercial companies, nothing handmade. All the best of luck! Thank you for your question and for watching!

@@Lyddiebits I have not seen metal on stoneware either. I suppose you could use the lid on a regular skillet? Have not tried that but it might work. Mine goes in a regular electric domestic oven -slow heat -yummy! Traditionally the Tajine is used over hot coals -NOT in direct contact with the bottom of the pot. The history of Tajine is very interesting. I show different methods of throwing a Tajine in 3 videos. Happy to hear you are watching and enjoying them! Thanks! Please subscribe if you haven't already. Cheers! jw

@@BrokenArrowPottery very cool:) yes, I have an old 1940's Philco😍 stove/oven. Idk if you're familiar with the giant image that King Nebuchadnezzar at Daniel chapter 2? Well, in the vision, each metal means a different kingdom, the gold head represented Nebuchadnezzar, silver breasts for Medo-Persia, belly and thighs of copper for Alexander, and Rome with iron and metal...finally, and this is the whole point to my post...the feet and toes of this gigantic image (the king saw this in a dream, that was later revealed by the prophet Daniel with God's help) were clay mixed with iron. Logic says, iron and clay don't mix. This brings me back to the post about metal and clay needing to be super heated because they just don't mix under regular circumstances, as in, our home kilns! Anyway. Sometimes my brain goes for a walk and that is what's happening here:) but I've been thinking about this post and the image in the King's dream evee since this posy. I hope you have a great day! And yes, I've been subscribed for a while now:) happy potting!!!

@@Lyddiebits Wow, I hadn't thought of that in connection with this! But you did! Sharp gal! Very interesting, and thank you for bringing it up. Lots of symbolism in that story. Is it possible that ceramic clay bonded to iron would prevent the iron from rusting therefore creating an indestructible 'support' (toes & feet) or a 'foundation' for the upper part of the image? which symbolically represent 'countries' or parts of the known world. Could the image be like a visual treaty of sorts? Just a thought... You are a real thinker and obviously well read. Thanks for sharing your brain-walk. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts and the connections you made. Brain walking by the way is terrific exercise! Blessings! -jw
