I am speechless... This is amazing, man. This cover is everything I wanted in an acoustic cover of this song. This is what I aspire to when I strum this song out from now on. Tip of my hat to you, sir!
Great cover. I only recently became a fan of this song as hearing it stripped down and being able to make out the words and melody went very far with me. Love it
It will never cease to amaze me what this man considers to be "scrappy" - i love the attention to detail in his playing and the the visible joy while doing so. There's so much energy in this cover, one of my recent favourites for sure! Also, this one might be a bit more of a challenge to learn than usual, so really looking forward to mastering it.
I commented on this three years ago but I wanted to comment again. The last time I said that this reminded me of my dad, and it made me cry. I'm not sure why it made me cry because when I said that he was alive. But this time when I remembered your cover, he has been dead for almost a year. I want to thank you again for making this, this is so special to me
I'm tired of teenager covers with a thousand voice filters and recorded in super-expensive cameras in which they all look exactly the same. I prefer a man who knows how to play his guitar and knows how to have fun while making an epic performance. Without filters, without HD and without shits.
I have been playing music for the last 28 years and I have to say I find this guy very entertaining and very good at showing how it's done I have learned a few songs of this guy fair play keep it you your brill my man
That was great man!! One of those songs I could never figure out proper. Childhood memories of my mom and her friend 'Eileen' and myself, as a little kid, dancing to this song in the tiny little living room in Toronto. we were poor as fuck!! I never knew, til I was older, how hard my mom had to work to make sure I didn't know we were poor. I had a great childhood! Dancing around to awesome music. Violent Femmes, Crowded House, David Bowie, Dexys Midnight runners; etc. I am going to learn this exact way of playing this song, and play it for my mom. She's quite successful now, but often says she misses those days. Being a single teenage mom in Toronto. We never had money, but we had a blast! This song always reminds us both of those awesome times together.
I would have never thought to have covered this acoustically, this is being added to my set list once I've mastered your tutorial, Nice 1. More 80's / 90's covers for me to play in the pub please, they go down a storm, thanks.
This video is a perfect demonstration of one person with a guitar and a good tune having more fun than a barrel of freakin monkeys. Yes, i busted out the barrel of monkeys
